My dancing is horrendous. Maybe it’s the lack of of a blue satin vest.

“Dancing Queen” is my favorite, too, but they are all unforgettable (even if you want to)!

ahhhh, i asked for john lee hooker and you give us abba?
take a chance on me… as a kid i could never get the interplay between the lead vocal entreating the listener who many “change their mind” and the background vocal chanting “take a chance, take a chance…”

Dancing Queen is probably the best. Brings back good memories of high school. Fernando would be a close second in my book.

That vid reminded me of that great scene in Mamma Mia.. pure joy

Scot,
Why does thou tormentest me?
My dancing shoes have been in the clauset for a long time, and they shall probably remain there.
FWIW, I think “Waterloo” has to be their best song.

My parents played so much Abba around the house when I was a kid that “Waterloo” was pretty much my nursery rhyme. Till this day I mentally associate it with fluffy animal toys and Lego!

Alright, I’ll admit it . . . I like “Dancing Queen,” too.
I sure hope I haven’t lost my indie cred.

So, I am a bit too young to know much about ABBA, but I did hear this very song mentioned in a message by Mike Pilivachi titled “Prophecy.” He talks in a hilarious way about how God used this song to speak prophetically through him for the first time in his life. Check it out on the Soul Survivor USA Podcast…

ABBA?

Fernando.

Scot,
Can anyone really pick and say what the best ABBA song is? They have too many good ones and I probably will have various favorites at different times depending on my mood or situation in life. If they come back again to Ravinia (the fake ABBA group that travels around), you have to go. We went two summers ago and had the time of our lives as people all over the lawn danced and jumped around depending on the song. The group was fantastic as well in sounding and looking like the real ABBA.

Scot,
disturbing….very disturbing.
ok, then I’ll come clean.
“Take a Chance on Me” is my fav.

Dancing Queen is their best. However, On Friday nite I saw a touring performance of Mamma Mia! in Bloomington, IN and the way they use “Take a chance on me” was really innovative.

“Dancing Queen” is one of my all time favorite songs along with The Eagles’ “Hotel California.”

Gotta agree with Steve on this …..
“Take a chance on me, take a chance and see . . .”
Or, in the words of another great song, “They just don’t write em like that any more”
Blessings

Scot: now you are really getting into my fanboy territory. Couldn’t resist using it as the opportunity to say a few things about Abba at http://markgoodacre.blogspot.com/2009/03/favourite-abba-song.html

Either “Fernando” or “Dance (While the Music Still Goes On).”
