Scot, I was wondering if you have a book you would recommend that would help someone get started in birdwatching, especially the backyard variety. I want to be able to spot more than the blue parakeets!

I'm not sold on twitter. I remember long ago sitting in John Stott's flat in London, listening to him talk about his love for birds. I would love to hear his thoughts on the comparisons between the songs of birds, and humans writing little "tweets" on what we are doing at the moment ...
