Pat Robertson blasts SNL over Jesus, Tebow skit!
Hmm. SNL has poked fun with Jesus before…
Chances are, Pat wouldn’t have said anything about this skit had it not been poking fun at Tebow… SNL has used “Jesus” in skits many many times.
There seems to be a double standard among some Christians when the religious sati

I agree with Josh. Number I get (the Book of Mormon does tell us He spent time in the American Southwest, after all). But, number 2? Why does Jesus hold up two fingers?

JoelR,
I think Jesus used two fingers because he was employing that ancient Hebrew writing technique of repeating words for emphasis, i.e., “Verily, verily I say unto you…”
He just “said it” in sign language for the benefit of the Pharisees who were always begging for signs. It’s not some supernatural, Messianic talent though. Lots of drivers here in Miami use that same two-fingered phrase if you don’t drive the way they think you should.

I should clarify, I guess. The two-fingered sign I’m referencing uses the middle finger of each hand.

Umm, because he’s “air-quoting?”
Seriously, according to the Google search I was compelled to do, he is depicted holding up 2 fingers to show that Jesus was both human and divine, in response to heresies that said Jesus was either a divine being masquerading as a human and that Jesus was a human that wasn’t really divine.
