Pat Robertson blasts SNL over Jesus, Tebow skit!
Hmm. SNL has poked fun with Jesus before…
Chances are, Pat wouldn’t have said anything about this skit had it not been poking fun at Tebow… SNL has used “Jesus” in skits many many times.
There seems to be a double standard among some Christians when the religious sati

Uh, in your face, atheist?

Unbelievable. Or worse yet, believable. And I bet whoever designed it thinks they were being a “good” Christian in doing this.

or at the least cute. i know i’ve made horrible jokes in the name of being cute.

John,
I agree that it’s a bit mean-spirited (I think I get the joke, though, with the constant ratcheting up of the Culture Wars on Evolution v Creationism), and at first I almost retched. But I also see an element of scary truth here. Consider: http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2011/marchweb-only/kenhamhomeschool.html

It’s in the movie Paul.
On a side note: the movie is rated R for a reason, don’t take your kids just because there’s an animated alien in it.

Oh, is that the one from the Shaun of the Dead guys? Any good?

I know it’s in a movie. It’s still funny.

But your presentation of it here has obviously led some readers to believe that it’s a sincere “Christian” product, rather than just a gag. I’m clinging to the hope that this shirt was only ever intended as a joke.
(But I can’t say I’d be surprised to see some people I know proudly wearing it while completely oblivious of it’s irony.)

What was that in the other post about folks being certain a majority of Christians weren’t anti-science??
Not that this is a nail in that coffin but it doesn’t help their argument.

Unable to accept reality.

No, it’s just a joke from a movie. It’s supposed to be excessive.
If it’s any help, IIRC the young woman wearing it comes around by the end of the movie.

I want this shirt. It’s hilarious. (in a bad way)
But I don’t want the many horrible conversations that will arise because of it.

I kinda do.

I’m with LRA, I got hit with Poe’s law. D’oh!!

Wow, that is just a bit extreme.

And I just googled Poe’s law. I was getting pretty riled thinking that this was probably the most offensive Christian t-shirt I had ever seen.
