Z, Considering that George Bush could be the antichrist isn't exactly silly, it's analytical. I for one believe fully in the Bible, and have come to realise that a full 1/4 of that book is end-times prophecy. I believe that we were given that prophecy so that we would know the signs of the times we live in. Christ said, "Look at the fig tree and all the trees. When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near." I know that it's risky business to assign a mantle like antichrist to George Bush, and there-by dehumanize him. But his presidency has been wrought with transformation. World-wide, this new century has been plagued with war, famine and natural distasters enough to even give the 20th century a run for it's money. I believe that we are in the last days, and that antichrist is among us. I believe that antichrist will be more deceptive and hold more power than Javier Solana, and I believe that George Bush best fits the criteria of antichrist. but don't take my word for it. A man by the name of Stephen Hanchett has believed that George Bush jr. would be the antichrist since 1999. Wow, I must've missed SOME post by someone named "Z".
out of context my post does seem a bit whacky. I was referring to a conversation on a post from 10/30 that has since been deleted. zero=infinity was the person I was responding to. In the eariler post I questioned if David had ever considered the possibility that George Bush could be the antichrist...I'm not sure if he is considering the possibility or giving me the hush treatment. In response to SkipChurch, I say that a christian nutjob is one that burns down an abortion clinic and calls that christian behavior, or someone that makes their child hold up a sign saying "God Hates Fags", or even anybody who still believes that God told Bush that he would find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. I for one strongly believe in God, and I also know that God does not lie.
David, I'm a big fan of NT Wright and have read every book so far in his COQG series. Can you tell me where this quote is from? Thanks.
