Well, with only 38 minutes remaining till many polls in the east close, EJ Dionne has gone above and beyond with these observations:
House Dems +27
Senate Dems +5
Surprise number One (Or maybe not a suprise): These predictions are much too cautious and Democratic gains are more substantial.
Surprise Number Two: Turnout breaks records for midterms and certainly surpasses 1994.
Surprise Number Three: The Economy plays as an issue mostly in states with economies running behind the performance of the nation. It is a much weaker issue in states doing very well.
