Jordan and Jesus

Friday February 9, 2007

I stumbled across a Nike ad I'd never seen before:

After watching it a dozen times and wondering why I loved it - beyond the joy and beauty of it - I settled on this. That we are like those kids on the playground running around trying to emulate our King. And while we fail so very often, there are moments when we are just like him. All the while though, often beyond our imagination, Jesus is there smiling at us - not because of our success but because we are trying to be like him.

I think you're right about that, David. Christ wants us to strive to be the fastest, smartest, tireless, most successful, etc. And I'd suspect he wants us to push for equality, love and justice just as strongly. Haveagoodone, Frank
