Kim reminded me off this Super Bowl ad from 2002. It was the first Super Bowl after 9/11.

Back...
I'm back here at JWalking after a bit of time because I just want someplace to record thoughts from time to time. I doubt that many of the thoughts will be political - there are plenty upon plenty of people offering their opinions on everything political and I doubt that I have much to add that will

Learning to tell a story
For the last ten months or so I've been engaged in a completely different world - the world of screenwriting. It began as a writing project - probably the 21st Century version of a yen to write the great American novel - a shot at a screenplay. I knew that I knew nothing about the art but was inspir

And just one more
I have, I think, just one more round of chemo left. When I go through my pill popping regimen tomorrow morning it will be the last time for this particular round of drugs. Twenty-three rounds, it seems, is enough. What comes next? We'll go back to what we did after the surgery. We'll watch and measu

Thanks for that. It brought tears to my eyes. Does anyone else think the commercials from last night’s Super Bowl were really, really awful? There were very few that were entertaining or memorable. Most of them seemed sophomoric, and some seemed to have almost nothing to do with the product they were advertising.

Yes, Gretchen they were horrible. The only ones I even broke a smile at was the David Letterman – Oprah one, and (I must admit) the Kevin Federline one, but too, I can’t begin to tell you what product it was for. I saw better commercials on the Puppy Bowl. (my must – see – event of the year :-) )

I dunno…I thought the Budweiser commercial with the apes and the Taco Bell commercial with the Lions was pretty funny.

The one that got me cracking up was the NFL commercial with the fans of the teams that didnt make the Superbowl with a jazz dirge being played (props for a real dirge). It let me laugh at the Saints not making the Big Game.
