I am the son of a geophysicist. As such I know a wee bit (emphasis on "wee") about plate tectonics. Plate tectonics is the theory that best explains how the continents came to be through slow but inexorable movement. [Note:...
Or maybe James Dobson, et al, will form their own political party.

First let's deal with the "conservative' tag.
This is a right versus wrong issue. Democrats do not have anything that Christians should join them in promoting.
Republicans David, do not hate Christians.
Democrats do.
Hate crimes deceptions are purely Democrat/Liberal/Progressives attempts of silencing and outlawing Christians.
You're delusional if you think any sizeable number of Evangelicals are going to support Democrats. No frickin' way. Some, like me, will look to the tiny number of politically useless _ though morally sound - politicians who happen to be Democrats (for whatever silly reason they hold to), as someone they could vote for, and then see and hear what Pelosi and her Marxist-Sodomite-ilk want to do to us, our children and our homes, and will vote for "their" opposition.
It has always been that simple.
Christians that hold to the Bible as important, reject Democrat political views and the people that spread them.
You may try to project your desires all you want to David, for Christians to support Democrats and reject the people you seem to abhor but it just isn't reality.
Democrats are bad and Republicans as not as bad.
If we Christians don't vote, than the greater of the two evils will take power over us, our children, our homes and our freedoms. California, Illinois and Massachusetts are good examples of the totalitarianism inherent in all theings Democrat party.
If you look at the two political forces, the GOP allows more freedoms to exist and allows deceny a voice. The GOP does not hate what is morally good. They may have members that violate morally decent behaviors, but they have none like the Democrats do, that celebrate it.

One thing seems clear to me. There are some who will vote Republican no matter what. They bury their head, cover their mind in ignorance, blind their eyes, and plug their ears and still manage to pull that "R" lever (or whatever the equivalent is on a Diebold election rigging system).
I am wiling to bet that the Republican Congressional Caucus could be caught on video having group sex with chocolate covered sheep while they snorted cocaine, drank Australian beer and sang "The Masochism Tango" in pig latin, and Donny would still support them.
In fact, I am willing to bet that there is nothing that would move Donny away from his support for the GOP...even if every member of that party renounced the Holy Spirit.
I truly feel sorry for him.

Oh no, please don't block Donny, his writings are, for me, a fascinating look into a way of thought that is completely alien to me.
Spock totally has a beard in Donny's universe!

I don't object to anyone voting party line - Republican or Democratic. My only objection is to the anger of some people (Donny) and their black and white limiations, and hate filled name calling. There is no way any reasonable person could view the Democratic party as being Marxist. Certainly no more than the Republican party can be viewed as theocratic and totalitarian.

Paul, it occurred to me the other day that how unpleasant it is to read some posters' ramblings, we're the lucky ones; they have to spend 24/7/360 with that sort of hatred locked into their heads. We can go about our business and hope for love and reconciliation; the Christlike tenets of the faith that Donny purports to practice so fiercely. I had even talked to David about never reading his blog again, a thought that distressed me, because of comments here; but in the end realized that I can walk on. You can as well, right after choosing to read or not read the posts; others have to live with the prejudices and beliefs that they sling here daily. It has to be tiring after awhile to see Marxists and hippies and satanists of every sort lurking in over 50% of the population, even worse to now see some within the conservative movement...
