“Help us stop Hillary”

posted by David Kuo | 12:49am Saturday October 6, 2007

It appears that NRO (National Review Online), the standard-bearer of conservatism is having financial problems. Their solution? Plaster a huge banner atop their stories that reads “Help us stop Hillary” to get people to donate to their “Fall 2007 Webathon.”
Conservatism is in free fall and National Review has the potential to be a powerful voice for how it is reshaped in the next few years. Perhaps it can help lead the way to change by helping conservatives aspire to something more than “stopping Hillary”. A positive vision of the conservative future is needed. By leading that they will not only live up to their heritage but maybe solve their financial problems as well.

Learning to tell a story
For the last ten months or so I've been engaged in a completely different world - the world of screenwriting. Conservatism is in a free fall. Conservatism is nothing more than morality and decency and placing value in doing the right thing. “Progressives” and Liberals are now controlling the education of our youth and poring into their minds that there are no absolutes and anything goes. That is not even debateable anymore.
What a joke morality and purity is now to a youth culture that sees everything as relative and everything as something they should do.
How many children even know what being decent and morally pure feels like? By the fourth grade they think it’s using a condom or taking drugs “but” not buying them or selling them and thinking monogamy is having sex with only one person at the same time.
How many children and young adults would not be having abortions, be pregnant and single mothers, or have to be vaccinated for STD’s and preventative promiscuity induced cancer (HPV vaccine) if they had role models that stressed purity and restraint?
What if rappers, rockers and movie stars were Conservatives? There would be very few unwed mothers . . .; abortions, violence, adultery, porn, cop killings, gay sex, STD’s and runaway children would be only rumors.
How many children are dead from drug use, violence, STD’s (again) and being aborted because mommy and daddy weren’t just f—— and had no love for each other at all?
Conservativism is in a free fall because the wrong people are leading our youth in our public schools. Conservatism is in a free fall because the role models of Hollywood and MTV are corrupting and deceiving our youth with the same old tactics that have caused the same ills throughout history.

“Perhaps it can help lead the way to change by helping conservatives aspire to something more than ‘stopping Hillary’.”
And perhaps God will come down to earth tomorrow to tell us that Zoroaster is right and Jesus is wrong.
Better to hope for that than for the conservative movement to magically mature; it’s much more likely.
Conservatism retains its paid adherents, like NRO, and its most tribal adherents, like Donny, who hate everyone they’ve been trained to hate.
But that’s it. That’s the sum total of their supporters.

I hope true conservatism isn’t really in free fall. Because true conservatism is seeing value in the world around you, and then doing your best to protect it.
On the other hand, a progressive sees little to no value in the world around himself. Children have such little value to the Left that it doesn’t think twice about killing them in the womb. Adults have so little value that the progressive side sees little wrong with prostitution and drug use as long as it’s “consensual”. Sex can’t have much inherent value, or else they wouldn’t share it so readily and indiscriminately.
Since this is “Belief”net, I’ll say it: When I believed in nothing, liberalism came easy. But when I came back to the God, and realized through the teachings of the Church that everyone has value, I couldn’t maintain anymore those liberal ideas. And I can’t for the life of me see how anyone calling themselves a Christian can.

Bob, you don’t have to be able to see it, God does. True conservatism is still alive but has no party to represent it.

A conservative sees little value in the world around himself. Sex is something to be shared indiscriminately with strangers in restrooms, prostitutes, and underage pages. Women have no value to the right except as slaves to the state, machines for sex and reproduction, so they try to pass laws making contraception illegal. And because actual children mean less to conservatives than being holier than thou, they try to ban in vitro fertilization in order to Save the Embryos.
See, Bob, two can play at this game.
I don’t actually believe what I wrote here– I think people can disagree in good faith. Please stop fantasizing that people only have different views than you do because they hate righteousness. It’s not so.

If I understand correctly the world today is bibilical. Israel will not fall because it belongs to God. The surrounding nations will become chaotic in trying to bring it down causing the USA oil shortages. There is nothing saying the USA will get involved and if that is so the only party not to get involved would be democrats. So the oil shortage will occur to the USA crippling us especially the military then China will see us very weak and attack. The news media is crippling the conservatives they are now saying Hillary has won the presidency when the primaries have not taken place causing people to feel defeated. Hillary has not won and people have to open their eyes to what Hillary really represents that is socialism. GOD better bless the Americans for the fall of the Roman Empire will happen again.

Kathaleen, God may well be predicting disruptions in oil supply and an emboldened Hu Jintao, but you have to take it with a grain of salt. God has a pretty terrible record as a prognosticator:

Or at least, earthlings who presume to know the mind of God have not-so-great records.
