Kurt Warner, Pt. 3

posted by David Kuo | 2:56pm Wednesday October 17, 2007

As Larry Parker notes, the news out of Arizona is that Kurt Warner’s injury is less serious than feared and that means he might actually play on Sunday (my fantasy football team will be pleased although I didn’t actually pray for his healing).

The results of the MRI exam were clear: Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner has a torn ligament in his left elbow… The ligament should heal on its own, so Warner won’t need surgery, a Cardinals spokesman said. Because the injury is in Warner’s non-throwing arm, he hopes to return soon and could practice today.

Answered prayers?

Learning to tell a story
For the last ten months or so I've been engaged in a completely different world - the world of screenwriting. It began as a writing project - probably the 21st Century version of a yen to write the great American novel - a shot at a screenplay. I knew that I knew nothing about the art but was inspir

And just one more
I have, I think, just one more round of chemo left. When I go through my pill popping regimen tomorrow morning it will be the last time for this particular round of drugs. Twenty-three rounds, it seems, is enough. What comes next? We'll go back to what we did after the surgery. We'll watch and measu

David, professional sports injuries are notoriously hard to diagnose. If we want to say G-d is confusing the doctors, fine; otherwise, no miracle here.
Look, I want to clarify — I wasn’t making fun of Kurt Warner’s religiousness per se, or even the fact he prayed over the injury. (It did seem, for a brief time, career-threatening, after all.)
Rather, it was that he prayed for a SPECIFIC OUTCOME — something I was taught in second or third grade CCD never to do …
