Dancing... or drinking through life
I am not even sure that I know how to do a link anymore. I'm giving it a shot though so, three readers, please forgive me if I mess this up.
So Rod Dreher's sister is battling cancer. It is nasty. Their faith is extraordinary. Here's his latest post (I think)
There are 8 comments on it.

Back...
I'm back here at JWalking after a bit of time because I just want someplace to record thoughts from time to time. I doubt that many of the thoughts will be political - there are plenty upon plenty of people offering their opinions on everything political and I doubt that I have much to add that will

Learning to tell a story
For the last ten months or so I've been engaged in a completely different world - the world of screenwriting. It began as a writing project - probably the 21st Century version of a yen to write the great American novel - a shot at a screenplay. I knew that I knew nothing about the art but was inspir

And just one more
I have, I think, just one more round of chemo left.
When I go through my pill popping regimen tomorrow morning it will be the last time for this particular round of drugs. Twenty-three rounds, it seems, is enough.
What comes next? We'll go back to what we did after the surgery. We'll watch and measu

A Newfie for Obama
NPR asked me to do a short memo to the president-elect. I chose to do it on the dog he should choose... and why. Check it out.

Judge not that you be not judged. Have you walked in their shoes?
Come on now, who can cast the first stone. Pipe down.

I love the part at the end where they dance!
(It’s remarkable that among all of his creation God would give to man the ability to dance. So lovely and simple an expression of grace.)

Who’s the lady?

I want to dance with Bono. (Just in case the reason I haven’t yet is simply because I haven’t made it known…)

It’s Andrea Corrs, lead singer for The Corrs. They’re Irish too.
And I want to dance with Bono too!

Doug- The lady is Andrea Corr, the lead singer for The Corrs – Irish siblings who have a band. They have lovely voices, all 4 play instruments, and are frankly just beautiful! They have had a few hits over the years. This is my favorite:

Andrea Corr is almost as pretty as my wife. But not quite. I think I am in the minority here since I don’t want to dance with Bono.

Thank you all. Anyone have her number?

…in the video, the older sister Sharon (with all the eye makeup)is standing on Bono’s left singing, and the youngest sister Caroline is playing the drums. (I love the Corrs!)

Beautiful! Thanks, David and HAK, for spotlighting this video (and the Corrs).

Gosh Doug, I had it, she wanted me to pass it to you but now I can’t find it. Can you forgive me?

not likely, David

You can do it… say, “I forgive you for losing her phone number.” You’ll be freed

A sexy coupling of Irish perfection.
(And “sexy” can be chaste, too — something we forget in our pornography-soaked society. So despite the heat generated by all involved, and especially that last dance between Bono and Andrea, this remains very much a Thin Place.)

Oh, ok, but I’m just saying if I’m to live an exemplary life I’ll need a little help. That’s all.
