Huckabeed

posted by David Kuo

The question going forward is how many other candidates will get Huckabeed. It is easy for the pundits to say that winning in Iowa isn’t that big a deal – after all, Reagan didn’t win in 1980 and the first Bush didn’t win in 1988. That is true. But these things are also true – the
last four people to win the Iowa caucus became the Republican nominee.
Romney got Huckabeed. He discovered that bringing together the old Reagan coalition just meant he was bringing together a bunch of old people. He also discovered that going negative against a guy who is genuinely likable is a mistake. Finally, he discovered that going face to face with someone who is absolute authentic only highlighted concerns that he is anything but.

Learning to tell a story
For the last ten months or so I've been engaged in a completely different world - the world of screenwriting. It began as a writing project - probably the 21st Century version of a yen to write the great American novel - a shot at a screenplay. I knew that I knew nothing about the art but was inspir

I have, I think, just one more round of chemo left. When I go through my pill popping regimen tomorrow morning it will be the last time for this particular round of drugs. Twenty-three rounds, it seems, is enough. What comes next? We'll go back to what we did after the surgery. We'll watch and measu

Agree wholeheartedly except about Huckabee being absolutely authentic. His flip-flopping on immigration proves otherwise.
