Where time moves slowly

The plane touched down in Entebbe near midnight... refugees joined us on the plane for the short hop from Nairobi to Entebbe... a hundred or so men and women young and old and wide eyed with wonder... a wonder impossible to describe save for asking you to imagine what it might be like to go from isolated refugee to passenger on a new Airbus... a child flipping through my iPhone and giggling at the image I captured...

...and then Entebbe and the smoky, salty, sweet African air...

...and now to the child survival programs...

David,

Like you, I have more excuses than most people as to why I cannot go on mission. Unlike me, you have chosen to set aside those excuses, and to use your influence and -- more importantly -- your presence to make a difference in the lives of desperately poor children. God bless you.

Peace.

Come on, confess. "The plane touched down in Entebbe near midnight" felt great, didn't it?
