Dancing... or drinking through life
I am not even sure that I know how to do a link anymore. I'm giving it a shot though so, three readers, please forgive me if I mess this up.
So Rod Dreher's sister is battling cancer. It is nasty. Their faith is extraordinary. Here's his latest post (I think)

Back...
I'm back here at JWalking after a bit of time because I just want someplace to record thoughts from time to time. I doubt that many of the thoughts will be political - there are plenty upon plenty of people offering their opinions on everything political and I doubt that I have much to add that will

Learning to tell a story
For the last ten months or so I've been engaged in a completely different world - the world of screenwriting. It began as a writing project - probably the 21st Century version of a yen to write the great American novel - a shot at a screenplay. I knew that I knew nothing about the art but was inspir

And just one more
I have, I think, just one more round of chemo left.
When I go through my pill popping regimen tomorrow morning it will be the last time for this particular round of drugs. Twenty-three rounds, it seems, is enough.
What comes next? We'll go back to what we did after the surgery. We'll watch and measu

Ya think? He certainly wasn’t my vote but now that he is the candidate – we’ll be cheering on the school yard brawls in the democrats school. McCain’s personal history is going to be a selling point for Republicans – at least we ended up with two decent men acting in mature and responsible ways at the end of the Texas primary – Mike Huckabee isn’t gone forever from the scene. McCain’s choice of vice presidential nominee will be key IMHO – it won’t be Huckabee (don’t take that to the bank – I rarely am right about these things!)

Was that McCain’s daughter standing with him at the podium last night, or his baby sister?

Indeed, people will learn about McCain. They will learn about his multiple extramarital affairs while he was in the Navy. They will learn how he abandoned the wife who almost died while he was a POW but still remained loyal. They will learn how he divorced the mother of his children so he could marry a much younger woman and run for Congress. A man of honor? Please.
Note that all this happened AFTER McCain’s “sacrificial bravery” in Vietnam. If you think his POW experience is relevant, these other facts should be considered as well. They tell us something about his character, too.
