Twice in the last 48 hours God has winked at me. They were wry little winks - ones of the sort that I might normally miss. This evening a friend who I haven't heard from in months and months...
If God (who is Love) somehow withdrew his presence from creation, would the electrons stay in their orbits? Or would the entire creation simply collapse at a subatomic level? Because I'm not a deist, I believe the latter.
"Chance" is just a word for things we don't understand, and perhaps aren't meant to understand. I don't know if God willed the coincidences you describe; it's one of those things we aren't meant to know. But if they gave rise to a leading from the Spirit, then what difference does it make? Yes, God winks.
Good to have you back, David.

God winks at simpletons most often, I think.

While living in Ghana, I saw God "winking" a lot more there than I do here in Canada. As a culture, we've either learned to live without God or house him in a separate compartment, pulling him out when we need him.
I suppose we can discern whether they are winks by how the spirit uses them to deepen our love for and commitment to God/people.

Dude,
I've been getting free daily messages from Conversations With God author, Neale Donald Walsch (who happens to be a Beliefnet Blogger), and I gotta say that the timing of a lot of 'em is incredible.
I do think it's worthwhile to look for those little winks too. And if New Age stuff ain't your trick, well that's okay too.
Didn't Jesus urge us to be vigilant? Didn't he say the day of the Lord is at hand? Heck, I think in Luke he even said that the kingdom of God is within.

You have made such an impact on my life David, that I feel your presence every day. You must have a decent wink yourself.
