Today is Day 18 of my 31 Days of Self-Love posts to celebrate Self-Love Month with suggestions for jumpstarting your own self-love.

I often get frustrated at how quickly my dinette table gets cluttered with stuff. It can seem overwhelming to get your place neat or get chores done or take care of those little things like calling the phone company to dispute something, paying bills, balancing checkbooks, etc. I kept promising myself that I’d set aside a day to clear everything and get all those things taken care of. But life usually gets in the way.

Knowing what I’m not doing weighs on me. That makes me feel bad when I want to feel good! So I decided to commit to doing one small thing every day. I’ll take 5 things off my table and put them away or pay a bill or make one call or polish the faucets in my bathroom or wash a sweater. My commitment is to do something each day and eventually stuff gets done. When the table is clear and bills are paid I still must do something each day. So I’ll clean one drawer, or just part of a drawer or my closet. Or clean out some old emails.

When you look, you can always find little things to do that clean or clear out part of your life. As my table clears and my to-do list get shorter, I feel SO GOOD! That a great way to say, “I love me!”
