Today is my birthday. I turn another year older. And, I’m happy about it! Getting older no longer scares me like it did when I was younger. I’m content with who I am. And I love me VERY much. Every year my self-love grows. Many people love themselves less as they get older. Every wrinkle, bit of sagging skin, and body ache eats away at the good feelings they have about themselves. Not me! I’m still a little a young girl at heart!
Things will change as the years pass. But I accept them as part of life and don’t have to let them diminish the love I have for me. Life is as good as you make it and letting birthdays bring you down keeps the good down too. So today I’ll be celebrating me and the blessed life I have. I came from a place of self-hatred and had many unhappy, unfulfilled years. No more! I make the most of each day, despite getting older. You can too!

Happy Birthday! I would also like to tell you that I love your posts! It is great to hear you talk about age being ONLY a number. I am turning 42 next month and I am in the best shape of my life physically and mentally. I have been out of a 18 year marriage for about 2 yrs. now. Unfortunately, being in that bad situation I had low self-esteem, and low self-confidence which in turn put me in doormatville and held me back from the happiness I deserve. I still have a ways to go, but I have learned so much about myself once I took myself out of that damaging situation. It is really amazing how I see myself so differently now, and have experienced things that I would not have when I did not believe in myself. It is so funny how people like to tell you as you get older “oh…it is downhill from here since you hit this such and such age.” Me, I don’t believe it! I am training for my first half marathon in November. I would have never, never, before even in my 20′s tried or even thought about being able to do something like this. Thanks again for all your inspiring posts!

Thanks for all the good wishes Adrian, Michelle and Linda.
Michelle–I’m actually developing a book and a blog on exactly what you talked about. I do get better each year.

HELLO !
In my opinion, the older they get more confidence to grow more and not vice versa because you have a life experience that you had that you were young, Thanks for a wonderful article .
Confidence Little change brings big changes
