Fearlessly Facing Tough Economic Times

QUESTION

What key lessons in particular can I apply when the job situation looks so grim and at any moment I won’t even have rent money?

ANSWER

Do what’s in your power; refuse to do what’s not. You don’t have the power to change the job market, or the fact you may not have the savings you need to get through a tough stretch. But you do have the power to keep your attention out of fearful negative pictures of imagined times to come, and to realize that resistance to anything separates you from being able to learn the lessons brought to you by what you resist. Lastly, fearful thoughts and feelings only seem to protect, while in truth they punish anyone who allows them to become their guide. New possibilities in life are always opening up, moment to moment, but we usually miss seeing them because — in fearing the way in which they’ve been delivered — we either have our eyes closed, or are looking the other way.

Healing from the Inside Out (Part 1)
