Take Time Alone

posted by Guy Finley
Your heart needs space to soar.
Your mind needs places
Without walls to wander
And time by itself
. . . To see its own reflection.

Give them this Gift.
They will bring back to you
The freedom they find,
Returning to you
Gleaming with bright new meaning.
Be patient with yourself.
It takes practice to perfect doing nothing,
Not that this Work isn’t native to your soul.
Only that so much of us is so busy trying to be something
We have become distracted and forgotten being whole.
So, take time to be alone.
Feel everything being no one.
Dip yourself in this Nothingness.
Throw yourself in and then,
Listen to the sound of no bottom.
And do not fear such aloneness.
What you call falling is flying
. . . Once you let go of being afraid.
