More to Come
Barry,
It's hard to believe that we've been debating these constitutional issues for more than two years now in this space. I have tremendous respect for you and wish you all the best in your new endeavors.
My friend, I'm sure we will continue to square off in other forums - on n

Thanks for the Memories
Well Jay, the time has come for me to say goodbye. Note to people who are really happy about this: I'm not leaving the planet, just this blog.As I noted in a personal email, after much thought, I have decided to end my participation and contribution to Lynn v. Sekulow and will be doing some blogging

President Obama: Does He Get It?
Barry,
I would not use that label to identify the President. I will say, however, that President Obama continues to embrace and promote pro-abortion policies that many Americans strongly disagree with.
Take the outcome of the election - an unmistakable repudiation of the Preside

President Obama is the "Angel of Death"? Give me a break!
Jay, I think you would agree with me that businesses have the right to hire and fire as they see fit. Fox News, per usual, has manufactured a controversy here, and that's all there is to it. But since you mentioned you believe Juan Williams' had the "right to express a thought," I'd like to at least

Juan Williams' Firing: Political Correctness Over the Top
Barry, it's the ultimate in political correctness. Losing your job for being honest - for expressing a feeling - a thought. The problem is that in the case of former NPR journalist Juan Williams, an honest thought - expressing a feeling - about Muslims and 9-11 - cost him his job.

How incredibly naive it is for anyone to think that McCain or any other Karl Rove puppet would not listen carefully to what an opponent was saying prior to that puppet’s appearance. Oh, yes1 He’s a military man … and military men take orders from their superiors!

Are they actually making an argument based on being a POW?
Sheesh, does being a POW mean you are, now and forever, to be considered innocent of anything you might ever be accused of, no matter how little it has to do with your military service?
It is NOT a silver bullet.

Is there evidence that McCain had prior knowledge of teh questions Warren asked Obama? If so, let’s hear that evidence. If not, shut up!

Of course McCain did not play by the rules. If he had, he would have been to the church on time. As to whether or not he listened to Obama’s responses to questions, we only have his word on it. But it didn’t matter, the questions asked, he already had pat answers to and has said it all before.
I learned nothing new about McCain and because of that, I consider him the loser. If his story of being a POW keeps morphing, we can just chock it up to beginning stages of senility. Already we know he can’t keep his facts straight.

It would not have mattered if McCain didn’t speak at all! Obama’s “nuanced” (a new word for “wishy washy”) answers spoke volumes. I swear, the man’s tongue would snap off if he just gave a straight answer to a question without three of four dozen qualifiers. And what was with Obama’s tilted head position throughout his answers? Did he body surf into a sand dune while on Maui?

Why did Rick ask McCain about playing poker ?

So John McCain cheated on his first wife because she had a car accident and was seriously injured, consequently gaining weight? He eventually divorced her and married an heiress to a beer distributer’s fortune, and I am being asked to believe that he would not cheat at a political forum? You’ve got to be kidding! I am a 63 year old disabled American veteran, and trusting any politician doesn’t come easy to me.

Let’s face it the Christian right is neither! I was brought up with the saying never discuss either politics or religion. Today with Christian fundamentalist ‘blurring’ the lines between church and their righteous indignation as they call it. They have the attitude the Pharisees had in the new testament, hubris and self-righteousness. For the last nine years I’ve said:
Whether Christian or Muslim, fundamentalist love to hate and hate to love!

These false accusations of cheating by the Obama camp just shows what a lack of character these sore losers have. Obama has been getting a free pass from the beginning of the primaries. Obama looked like the rank inexperienced amateur that he is in the Saddleback debate … while McCain looked decisive and competent. The election is only about 70 days from now, and if Obama hasn’t already come up with positions on these crucial questions by now, he is certainly not qualified to be President of the United States. Crying and accusations of cheating because Obama lost the debate, only makes Obama look smaller and less deserving of the office.

Free pass, Gina?
Gee, I wonder where you’ve been the last almost a year. While the media salivated over Wright, over Obama may be a muslim. Confusing Obama and Osama. Calling his WIFE his ‘baby momma’. Claiming that there was some scandal over his birth certificate AFTER the state it came from said it was legitimate. Trying to refer to him over and over as a ‘gaffe machine’.
McCain was at least honest about his treatment. Until recently, he was so aware that the media was easy on him that he used to refer to the media as ‘my base’.

The only cone of silence John McCain could have possibly been in would have been him wearing an orange traffic cone on his head during the ride to the forum so he couldn’t hear the radio or see a Blackberry.
From today’s news it looks like the pastor knew he had not been in the green room but kept quiet, even after McCain made his joke about trying to hear through the walls.

We know for sure he was lying about being in the “cone of silence.” His staff has finally admitted it. He was in his car, on the way to the event. More than likely listening to it on the radio.
Typical conservative…they only play by the rules when it benefits them. Typical Christian…sin is what everyone else does.

For starters, the NY Times is NOT a reliable source and can hardly be considered evidence. Time and again the NY Times has proven that it has a liberal bias. Also, that is not the typical conservative or the typical Christian. Liberals are the ones who are the masters of double standards. They say that we shouldn’t be in Iraq b/c our boys are being killed, yet they support the slaughter of innocent babies who are defenseless. And I’d like to know where you get the idea that the typical Christian thinks that sin is what everyone else does. This idea of yours just shows how ignorant you are about Christianity and Christians.

Please consider your actions even if you don’t consider the words you use to express yourself. If you vote/support people who vote/support the murder of the least of God’s children, (those who cannot speak yet) you have supported and chosen death. If moral people do nothing to stop selfish immoral people, immorality will flourish. We have been given a solemn opportunity to DO right in accordance to what God has demonstrated through the Life He lived in Jesus. If you have the spirit of the Living God within you, you will put your angers, suspicions, condemning oppinions, and foolish arguing away, choose the candidate that will most likely support the Life of the unborn children and get involved in your local right to Life organization. There will be no democrat or republican organizations in heaven, only those who lived out their belief in Jesus by DOING the will of the Father. The will of God is simple, Choose Life for others.

Senator McCain seemed to be in his vehicle on the way to the church while Pres. Barack was being interviewed. If he was in fact listening to the questions, this was not fair and Pastor Rick should address this at the next Saddleback Forum by making sure one candidate cannot hear the questions to give them a home court advantage.
