Senator McCain and Governor Palin should attend the Family Research Council’s Values Voter Summit this upcoming weekend. The event has featured many well respected speakers in the past including “Sean Hannity, Tony Snow, Dr. Bill Bennett, Newt Gingrich, Governors Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee, Senators Sam Brownback, Fred Thompson and Rick Santorum, Dr. Richard Land, Judges Charles Pickering and Robert Bork, and Ben Stein.”
Family Research Council does not condone lying or violating the tax laws, but it does support the preservation of traditional marriage. The Summit gives thousands of concerned Christians a chance to hear from prominent leaders, and hopefully the candidates themselves, about moral and social policy issues that will shape the November election and our nation’s future.
Senators Obama and Biden should also attend the event, especially since their campaign has tried to appeal to evangelical Christian voters. This would give Sen. Obama a chance to explain to values voters his well-publicized statement made to San Francisco donors that small-town Americans “cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them.”

More to Come
Barry,
It's hard to believe that we've been debating these constitutional issues for more than two years now in this space. I have tremendous respect for you and wish you all the best in your new endeavors.
My friend, I'm sure we will continue to square off in other forums - on n

Thanks for the Memories
Well Jay, the time has come for me to say goodbye. Note to people who are really happy about this: I'm not leaving the planet, just this blog.As I noted in a personal email, after much thought, I have decided to end my participation and contribution to Lynn v. Sekulow and will be doing some blogging

President Obama: Does He Get It?
Barry,
I would not use that label to identify the President. I will say, however, that President Obama continues to embrace and promote pro-abortion policies that many Americans strongly disagree with.
Take the outcome of the election - an unmistakable repudiation of the Preside

President Obama is the "Angel of Death"? Give me a break!
Jay, I think you would agree with me that businesses have the right to hire and fire as they see fit. Fox News, per usual, has manufactured a controversy here, and that's all there is to it. But since you mentioned you believe Juan Williams' had the "right to express a thought," I'd like to at least

Juan Williams' Firing: Political Correctness Over the Top
Barry, it's the ultimate in political correctness. Losing your job for being honest - for expressing a feeling - a thought. The problem is that in the case of former NPR journalist Juan Williams, an honest thought - expressing a feeling - about Muslims and 9-11 - cost him his job.

I agree that Mr. Obama and Mr. Biden should attend. After all, Obama is a professing Christian.

The problem with the ‘comments’ section of blogs like these is that people always go personal against other commenter’s posts instead of focusing on the actual blog.

What’s the matter Jay, is ACLJ not getting enough attention where you have to beg canidates to attend your social functions?
Instead of worrying about guests, maybe ACLJ should help your brother & sister lawyers @ ADF before they lose their licenses and lose their tax exempt status.
Have fun this weekend figuring out more ways to make money off of the loyal but foolish flock of Xians.

WASHINGTON (AP) – Activists at a conservative political forum snapped up boxes of waffle mix depicting Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama as a racial stereotype on its front and wearing Arab-like headdress on its top flap.
……..Guess the “Value Voters Summit” wasn’t expecting Sen. Obama to attend after all …. nothing like a little racial stereotype to warm a welcome, huh?

Our individual futures, as well as the future of our nation, will be strongly influenced by our understanding of the power of values for good or bad, and what we can do to nurture the right ones in ourselves and in others – in family life, in our schools, in political leadership, in the administration of justice, in domestic and international business, and in other aspects of our daily lives.
In addition to thoroughly documenting the problems that have been created by a moral decline in America, my book, AMERICAN VALUES DECLINE: WHAT WE CAN DO, presents some 30, on-going, successful interventions and programs for dealing with them.
It presents compelling evidence as to why certain values are more productive than others – for us as individuals, and for society as a whole. It shows how these values have made the U.S. great, and how they are compatible with the rules for productive living of most of the religions of the world. In addition, it shows how they are shaped from birth by both heredity and environment – for good or bad – and what we can do to enhance or negate these effects.
About it, Cindy Penn, of THE MIDWEST BOOK REVIEW, writes that “William Fox’s extraordinary book…is a must read for every American…I found myself quickly caught up in Fox’s prose as he lays out the historical and cultural ramifications of values. His examples are thought provoking ideas that quickly inspired me to consider my own situation, family and work world.”
Carolyn Fouts, Ph.D., LMHC, states that “This is an extrraordinary book…a trumpet call to individuals who professionally interact with clients of all ages.”
Larry Moore, of the FBI LAW ENFORCEMENT BULLETIN, asserts that “All members at all levels in the criminal justice system should read this book because it offers a very frank approach to many of the problems that American society faces today.”
Marc, of BOOKREVIEW CAFE, states that “Anyone who cares about our Western society should read this book,”
and Dr. Clarence Boonstra, retired Career Minister, U.S. Department of State, claims this to be “A very good handbook for compassionate conservatives.”
AMERICAN VALUES DECLINE: WHAT WE CAN DO (a 438 page paperback – ISBN 1-59453-518-3 – published in 2005) may be obtained new or second-hand from Amazon.com, or in ebook form from Mobipocket.com for $9.

Dr Jay: Whose side are you on anyway? Why are you giving tips to the left? I almost forgot that deep down, you have a beneficent heart towards all people (e.g. both the Israelis and the Palestinians). I can’t say you are not just.
I think it is a little strange inviting the opposition to a pro-heterosexual marriage convention. Maybe this would beef the opposition’s muscles up to face counterattacks. So…you’re suggesting that conservative candidates attend pro-abortion conventions and rallies? Very stellar and creative thinking, indeed! I like it. It’s like sending the wolves to the sheep and vice versa. Notice I didn’t define my allegorical animal figures. I’m trying to attain the level of impartiality of my mentor.
