Lynn v. Sekulow

STILL LOOKING FOR ANSWERS

Thursday September 18, 2008

I've been getting more information in about last weekend's "Values Voters" confab in Washington, the place where the "Obama Waffles" booth was located.  Speaker Star Parker referred to public schools as "cesspools" and claimed that taxing the rich was a "violation of the Scripture".  Fox News host Sean Hannity ripped into Senator Edward Kennedy with bad alcohol "jokes", as if he didn't even care that the Senator is being treated for a potentially lethal brain tumor.  Less than polished actor Steven Baldwin announced that attendees should start "kicking butt for the kingdom of God".  And on Tuesday, the "Obama Waffles" people officially announced that their product is not racist.

Please, Jay, just concede this rhetoric and these explanations are ridiculous, mean-spirited, and obnoxious (or at least one of the above).

So-called values voters have seemingly lost whatever decency they had left. This is exacerbated by the hubris that stems from the Palin nomination which they can rightfully be credited for. I think. however, that the average American wants considerably LESS religion in government.

With all due respect to Mr. Lynn, he doesn't make much of an effort to refute the claim that taxing the rich isn't scriptural. Not surprisingly all the comments listed (ie Teddy Kennedy) are taken out of context (or at least not given any context).

As far as the average American wanting considerably less religion. On what do you base this claim? I'm sorry but Thomas Jefferson wanted government out of religion not the opposite. He in fact organized church services in several federal buildings. He also attended these services "religiously" if you will.

Why not drop the name calling (ie "so-called values voters" "lost..decency" and actually state some reasons why we may want to actually agree with you.

WHY, OH WHY, MUST OUR RELIGIOUS/POLITICAL BRETHERN ALWAYS BE PUTTING GUILT TRIPS ON THEIR CRITICS. WHY IS EVERYTHING "WE" SAY, ANTI-GOD OR ANTI SOME OTHER TRUMPED UP SUBJECT MATTER? TIRED OF ALL THE GUILT TRIPS FOLKS, LETS HEAR SOMETHING ABOUT WHAT CHRIST TRULY PREACHED: "LOVE ONE-ANOTHER, AS YOU WOULD LOVE ME".

Rev Lynn: You want to hear about rhetoric that is ridiculous, mean-spirited, and obnoxious? How about Obama saying on his conference call to clergy about Obama health care that people "are partners with God in life and death" when he includes mandatory coverage of abortion with taxpayer dollars? I've got news for you Pres. Barack: You will never be on the same level with God, even though you may think so, especially on issues of life and death. Stop trying to play God.

Some folks have so much respect for God that they do not even say His name out of reverence, but you are equating yourself with God. You accuse people of bearing false witness, but what about your blasphemy? I'd like to point out that the Bible says: don't point out the speck in your neighbor’s eye when you have a log in your own.
