One more reason I like the Pope

Pope presses Obama on abortion, stem cells.

Pope Benedict XVI stressed the church's opposition to abortion and stem cell research in his first meeting with President Barack Obama on Friday, pressing the Vatican's case with the U.S. leader who is already under fire on those issues from some conservative Catholics and bishops back home.

The 30-minute meeting Vatican audience was described by both sides as positive -- constructive talks between two men who agree on helping the poor and pushing for Middle East peace but disagree on what the Vatican considers prime ethical issues.

I know what the Pope means by "prime ethical issues," but I'm not sure how to connect that concept to President Obama.

Dave,

What do you mean by the last sentence? Thanks.

In my book, helping the poor and peace in the middle east are "prime ethical issues".

Do you also like how the pope has also condemned tens of thousands of people to death by claiming that the one thing that actually works against AIDS will make actually it worse in Africa? We're talking about condoms here (even the mormons let you strap one on)! How can anyone like a man who is willing to condemn all those people to death when it is proven that condoms save lives. Get a grip! And while you are at it learn about all the amazing things stems cell therapy can do before telling those children with cancer whose only hope is through stem cell research that you're sorry they are just going to have to die because it is all part of god's great plan.
