Lust. Betrayal. Revenge. Greed. Murder. Somehow, all of these things become dull in the preposterous and yet decidedly un-fascinating “Fascination,” a movie that plays as though the script was being made up on the spot. By aliens not quite familiar [...]

A spooky child, creepy rural setting, and eccentric characters are the key props in this atmospheric thriller, where strong acting and quiet scenes are more terrifying than on-screen mayhem. Dr. David Callaway (Robert De Niro, in a solid but uninspired [...]

MPAA Rating:R
Movie Release Date:2005

There’s something far scarier about this movie than its CGI monsters, whose lack of any apparent weight makes them seem as threatening as the floating Clifford balloon in the Macy’s parade. What’s scary is the premise: it’s based on a [...]

The Hangover Part III
Let's hope that this movie is the much-needed stake in the heart to the triligization of popular movies (okay, with an exception for Richard Linklater's "Before" series and "Toy Story").  I began to think of the three films as a shell game, with the pea of novelty and humor under just one shell, an

Jen Chaney Ranks the "Fast and Furious" Movies

More from Disney's Next Release: Planes
[iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/HjcPOZ_z3Ts"] This video, featuring music by the film's composer, Mark Mancina, is much more appealing than the trailer.  I'm beginning to look forward to it.  And do we get a hint that train and boat movies may follow?

Jerry Lewis is Back (in France) With a New Movie -- A Drama
They really do love Jerry Lewis in France, so where better to premiere his first movie in 23 years than Cannes?  The 87-year-old legendary funny man appears in a drama called "Max Rose," about an elderly widower, co-starring with Claire Bloom.  The Hollywood Reporter has an exclusive clip.
