Time Bandits!! That movie keeps coming up in discussions here and there. I thought I was the only one who "got" or even liked that crazy flick! I am amazed at the effect it has had over the years.
I watched some of Hellboy 1 last night. It was far better than I expected, based on the original trailers for the movie. Ron Perlman seems to have a quite a career playing the beast for so many beauties.
Worthy But Flawed, HellBoy II gives you all the action and visuals you're looking for but with the sudden drop in direction & creativity in the end. I will not spoil it for you. But if you're an avid movie goer, you'll feel like 'been there, done that' during the final 15 to 20 minutes of the movie - with some action and/or dialog just not making any sense i.e. why go there?
Ever wish writers and editors would try harder - think out of the box?
I love Time Bandits. Was an exciting movie and hard to age - kinda like Dragon Slayer. Never gets old.
Have not seen this yet, loved the original--real escape from day to day hoo-ha (aka: work) the scenes on the roof with the little kid are priceless in the original. How many of us lose the ones we love 'cause we are 'hesitating' on the roof or worse yet, THEY are not sure what they want. OW. And, what up with endings for movies? 9 outta ten are trashola, not even the good excuse for sequals, c'mon writers, give it the gas at the end too. Almost seems like they run outta money for these freaking endings.
i loved this movie! it is a got to see for all high schoolers and is very funny
Thanks, Katie! I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as I did.
I'm glad you recommended it for the high school crowd. I took my 6th grader, he's seen the first Hellboy and was fine. But this one we had to leave early. Too much scary stuff for him. Swarms of face eating mini-things, and such. I loved what I saw of it but the younger set might find it a bit frightening.
