The wonderful Olivia Thirlby, who played Juno's best friend and is featured in the current Vanity Fair cover story on the most promising young stars, stopped by for a few seconds when I was interviewing Jonathan Levine, the writer/director of her new film, "The Wackness."

Levine interview coming soon -- stay tuned.

Movie Mom, are you going to post a review for The Wackness? I have been reading about it and just wanted to know what you thought of it.
Thanks!

Thanks for asking, Kate! I wish I could post reviews of all of the independent films I see, but don't always have time. I am thinking of doing capsules for some films. I liked "The Wackness" very much -- clearly the work of an exceptionally talented and perceptive film-maker. But it is also the work of a very young film-maker. Some parts of the film are stronger than others -- the chemistry between the three lead characters is excellent and the period detail is evocative without being intrusive. If you see it, let me know what you think!
