This was one of my absolute favorite movies as a kid and I showed it to my own children fairly recently. Afterwards, my too-cool, film savvy fourteen -year- old son said: “For an old movie, this was really quite scary.” Translation: He liked it. If I could have a wish, it would be to time travel and this film really does inspire great conversations on our relationship to the future, present and past.

It is one of our family favorites, too, and much better than the remake. I’m working on a list of favorite time travel movies, so suggestions welcome and stay tuned!

The version starring Guy Pierce was pretty entertaining, as well.

It was, Andrea! I liked it better than most of the critics, some really striking visuals.
