I saw this movie tonight and I thought it was very nicely done.
The movie had two messages, one was don’t get too caught up in yourself and your problems take a look around and ask yourself, do I really have it that bad?
The second message seemed to be shop at Walmart. The movie was a long Walmart commercial and a bit unrealistic in some respects. Here you have this family who is barely making it by, bills piling up but yet the teenage son has a cell phone? Yea right, like that is going to happen. Also, in their cupboards is only Walmart brand food items. I understand the importance of product placement in todays TV shows but we all knew that Walmart was the sponsor, they had nothing but Walmart commercials from start to finish.

Just saw this movie tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it.

totally awesome!! i believe God works His ways through everyone and everything around us. We just need to see them.

Thanks, everyone! Michael, I also found the product placement distracting and annoying. I suppose it is literally the price we pay for getting the series on the air.

Michael, you’ve obviously never seen someone in a grocery store using food stamps and talking on their cell phone….all while buying beer and cigs. Unfortunately, not unbelievable at all I think, more like the world we live in. And if Walmart is going to sponsor this alone with P&G, then I don’t care if every food product, piece of clothing, dish, spoon, phone, microwave…..has Walmart brand on it. I’m glad they are actually doing it! These are great family movies and start great conversation with kids. It’s our job to take it the extra step instead of picking apart anything we can about the movie.

@Michael the son did have a job of his own he worked at 5 nights a week, I think working a full-time job to help his single mother out paying bills all the while going to school, he has the right to spend some of that money one himself, like a cell phone.
The movie was amazing. I had it DVR’d for the longest time and have not had time to just set and watch it. Just watched it today and loved it. Great message and I think that over powered any product placement. I also think that the only reason all that stuck out so much is because in movies we are not used to seeing all the name brand stuff. Usually instead of Cocoa-Cola we just see a can that says cola…things like that.
