Wonderful! It looks like they are following the books rather closely. I just watched the preview twice. Thanks for linking it up!

I’m still not sure about some of the casting (Katniss should look more like a hardened survivor, wiry and harsh), but I have to admit I am excited to see the film. I have never had so much success teaching a novel before. My students are absolutely rabid for The Hunger Games. For whatever reason, this story appeals to teens and tweens like no other.

Thanks, Melissa. I’m always glad for whatever gets kids excited about reading! And I can see the appeal of a story about teenagers with the power and integrity to triumph over a corrupt system.

Hi Nell … First, I love your site … have 13 and 14yo girls and it’s a great resource. Trouble is the search function is kind of clumsy. Wondering if you reviewed this movie … Can you post a link if you did? Thanks so much.

Carol, we’re working on the search function but there are so many titles it is not easy to make it work better. Critics are not allowed to post a review until the evening before a movie opens, but you can be sure my review of “Hunger Games” will be posted Thursday night. Stay tuned!

Ok, so search not so good, but your responsiveness and graciousness is uncommon on the internet. Thank you for your quick reply and explanation.
