The stirring words of the great Native American leader Tecumseh are movingly read in this week’s release featuring active duty Navy Seals. Here they are:
So live your life so the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their views, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide. Always give a word or sign of salute when meeting or passing a stranger if in a lonely place. Show respect to all people, but grovel to none. When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself. Touch not the poisonous firewater that makes wise ones turn to fools and robs them of their visions. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.

Absolutely wonderful movie. One of the best I have seen in many years. Because of the R rating for violence and some of the reviews I read beforehand my wife and I almost did not go. The reviews and the R rating where off target. This was an experience more than a movie… a very moving experience. The movie is about greatness and the fact that good wins over evil. Tecumseh’s Poem is a fitting piece for these American Warriors depicted in this film. Absolutely wonderful.

My name is Daniel. I currently serve In the navy as a corpsmen. I absolutely loved this movie and it was so motivating to me. This is why I joined the navy and why I fight for my country. I believe this movie is more than just a movie, it’s a way of life for those that serve. And the poem at then end was perfect. Brought tears to my eyes.

I’m 20 years old and I’m a Navy Corpsman with the Marines, and this part of the movie really moves me to. It’s not just a quote from a movie, but however a way to live life, as I do. Fear is but a weakness, and if you live in fear, you’re not really living. Take each day for what it is, and live each day as if there is no tomorrow. Never take what you have for granted, as it may be gone before you even know what happened. #SemperFortis #SemperFidelis
