VATICAN CITY (RNS) A group of conservative Anglicans in Britain announced that they would convert to the Catholic Church under new arrangements designed to accommodate Anglicans upset with their church's growing acceptance of homosexuality and female clergy. Representatives of the British province of the Traditional Anglican Communion (TAC) voted unanimously...

Hey, I don't like what they said but I can't articulate what's wrong with it so I'll call them "ignorant secularists". Boy, I showed them!

nnmns sometimes that is an appropriate response to your's and pagan's kind of hate toward Christianity.

Not if you actually have something worth saying.

Now I'll admit my response was a little snide but ps's was right on the money.

Yep. This is all that Christianity is starting to become boiled down to: hate for women and gays. Forget the loving example of Jesus. We can all unite under the umbrella of intolerance. Misery loves company.

Maybe they could joint the Southern Cone in Africa. You know, where polygamy is the norm. Sooo catholic that.

Grey actually Christianity is ver tolerant you mean to say accept sin and yes Jesus hated sin. If you understood love you would know it also means saying no sometimes.

It isn't a sin for a woman to be a minister of God.

It isn't a sin when a woman gives birth to a homosexual child, and not a heterosexual child.

If you can say no to these very important members of our human society, or their roles in life you have a big problem, and who is doing this, and creating this problem? Not God, Some of the Churches and their leaders, and fundamentalist's of all colors and stripes are.

H22 quote, "and fundamentalist's of all colors and stripes"

Is that one of your southern sayings? Have you ever witnessed a baby born a homosexual? Did you mean a minister of a priest? Because I know plenty of women ministers and pastors many too many. My pastor back east is a woman so your point?

There are underlying differences in Holy Tradition and Holy Scriptres which have to be resolved, If the Anglicans desire to integrate to the Holy Roman Catholic Church then they should abide with what we Catholics hold true. IE esp. the matter of celibacy.

Well of course, RICRA, celibacy is the most important thing here!!! Not the fact that women can't be priests, or use "artifical" birth control OR allow homosexuals to be married in the church. It's obvious those Anglican's must be really conservative to ship out to the RCC. They disagreed with the Anglican's progress in this world. Better back than forward, apparently. I might be able to be an Anglican but RC? Never happen.

Celibacy in the Holy Roman Catholic priesthood is a discipline, not a doctrine. The machinery for admitting married men into the Holy Roman Catholic priesthood in the U.S.A. is already set up with the married permanant diaconate (deacons 20,000+ of them), if it ever comes to that. And it would work alright; no PK's (preacher's-priet's kids because it is all middle-aged men- no young families).

Ck. ans. to question #1. I only lived in the south for three yrs., don't know where "colors and stripes" came from.

#2: Yes, I have, and know others that have.

#3: I meant any women clergy. The Anglicans leaving for RC are against women in leadership in Churches, as in Priests.

Goodguyex needs to think about making comments from an "informed" viewpoint. His shooting off from the hip betrays total ignorance about how the Church operates and why. Celibacy is a discipline in the Church. That can always change and it seems it may do so in the not to distant future. Doctrinal teachings are another matter altogether. The Church will never teach as "true" whatever I "feel like" believing in. This is, obviously dangerous. Apply this rationale to other ways of thinking and judging and its flaws will become obvious!

Absolutely! You might correct mistakes.

Jim O., you are right, I do shoot off from the hip. But I am also informed. Isn't it possible to do/be both if you are a good shot???

In other words, I agree with you. If you want to put in a dig on me I can handle it! Bless you!
