Opponents of Religion in Inaugurations Lose Fight

posted by mconsoli | 4:57pm Friday May 7, 2010

WASHINGTON – Atheists who oppose prayer and other religious elements in presidential inaugurations have lost a case in a federal appeals court.
A three-judge panel on Friday upheld the dismissal of a lawsuit that sought to stop Barack Obama from using the words “so help me God” when he took the oath of office last year. Those who sued also wanted to stop ministers from saying prayers at Obama’s inauguration and wanted the court to eliminate religion from future inaugurations.
Two judges said it is too late to act on Obama’s inauguration and the court cannot block religious elements at future events when the participants are not yet known. The third judge says long-standing practices such as prayers and the oath of office are constitutional.

Each president should have a choice as to whether to have prayers or not, and whether to say “so help me God”. Chances are most will continue to do this, as they want to be “popular” with some of the voters!

When US presidents quit saying “so help me God,” Jesus will quit helping them rule the earth. The US is the 4th Christian horseman to rule the world, founded by George Washington who rode a pale horse. Our nuclear weapons bring hell and death. And the flying eagle associated with the 4th horseman is prominently displayed on our great seal, and on the dollar bill.
But someday we will have to give way to the 5th horseman, when the atheists and pagans in the US get their way.

I read Revelation once, and I’m pretty sure there was no 5th horseman.

interpreter,
Why do you call yourself by that name, when your words make it clear that your user-name should be “blasphemer”?

Quite the contrary, cknuck, I cherish the spiritual teachings of Jesus. What I am against is doctrinal mangling of what he taught. It is my opposition to doctrinal mangling that defines me as a heretic. I sincerely believe that the only way to be FOR Christ is to be a heretic who is AGAINST the doctrinal mangling of his spiritual teachings.

The third judge said, “Long standing prayers, and the oath of office are constatutional”. They are, because it covers the Presidents right for his freedom of religion to say what he wants to.
Happy Mothers Day PS, and other moms!

Hi Mordrid,
The 5th horseman appears in chapter 19. We are now in chapter 16, the pouring out of the 7 last plagues.
And I should have said the 3rd and 4th Christian horsemen now rule the earth for Jesus. (I can safely say that now that Clegg the pacifist has been defeated). Great Britain was founded by King James, who rode a black horse and conquered with economics. Together with Israel we will defeat the 7th head of the beast that fired the first shot of the Battle of Ar Mageddon on 9/11 when the Euphrates was dry.

Oh, I see. You’re referring to the arrival of Jesus on a white horse, wearing bloodstained robes and slaughtering the armies of the beast with a sword coming out of his mouth (doesn’t seem like a effective weapon to me). The verses I mention are in Revelation 19:11-21, in case you think I must have made that up.

Morred,
A lot of Christians believe that the Christlike 5th horseman is Jesus. I do not share that view. The 5th horseman is a Christian kingdom like the first four, and rides a white horse called “Faithful and True” which is the definition of the Orthodox Church, which the first horseman also rode to power.
