Hoop-shooting kid wins $40,000 scholarship, splits it among his opponents

The event – a foul-shooting contest for top academic students at Compton High School in Los Angeles – was created with a simple premise: Organizers wanted to show the kids in the low-income, high-crime area how to create community spirit with college scholarship money as the incentive.

Allen Geui won in front of a packed house.

Following a tear-jerking gesture from the winner – it appears the true lessons learned were by the adults.

After winning the $40,000 top prize, Allan Guei donated all of his winnings to the seven other finalists.

Guei, a star player on the basketball team who is headed to Cal-State Northridge on a full scholarship, said he felt the others could use the college cash more than he could. He wanted to give his classmates a chance to make their academic dreams come true, too.

“I’ve already been blessed so much and I know we’re living with a bad economy, so I know this money can really help my classmates,” he said in a release from the school. “It was the right decision.”

I am so encouraged by this kid and the fact that some one covered the story, a story of good. It won’t get much recognition around here people like darker stuff, but I’m telling all of my friends about this.

If you want to know how to get GODS attention, this is one of the ways. This young man doesn’t even know it but he has already set his destiny, and it is going to be successful. MARK MY WORDS. Young man, keep this spirit and don’t let society change you.

Apparently he’s been open to the Spirit of Christ and it opened him to the spirit of himself as a child of the Father. Either that, or he’s just a hell of a heavenly example of the spirit of humanity with actual humanity.

Geui, did not even have to think about what he wanted to do with the money, he already had it in his heart to give the money to his classmates; because he knew they could prosper as well. Jesus, had already spoke to his heart of what to do, and when u are blessed, bless someone else that’s in need. And that is just what he did….What an AMAZING thing to do, and then to say, it was from his HEART.
