Blasphemous! Who Me?

Thursday March 6, 2008

As many of you have noted, “Incognitus” left a less than complimentary comment on my Tuesday’s blog. First, let me thank those of you who left messages for “Incog,” answering him/her on my behalf. And thanks to those who wrote to me (my personal email account) sending notes of encouragement and reassurance.

I admit that I was, at first, taken aback. No one wants anger pointed in their direction, least of all me. It is not my purpose, intent or desire to anger anyone. While I was sorting through this dilemma, Our Lady of Weight Loss came to me and whispered, in the same manner she did that first day I ‘met’ her seven years ago, “Can the anger.”

I wasn’t sure what she meant. She can be so cryptic. I thought about her words, I re-read all of your miraculous posts, and took a long walk, looking for signs. It wasn’t until I returned home and was brewing a fresh pot of coffee that the answer came to me (figures the answer would come in the kitchen).

As I scooped the last of the coffee from its container with my right hand and was holding the empty can in my left hand, I remembered that in Peru people recycle aluminum containers into ‘miracle cans.’ These cans serve as offerings to various saints in return for granting a wish or miracle.

I am now in the process of recycling the empty coffee container into my own version of a ‘miracle can’ and have named it “Can Your Anger.” I will fill it with flowers when it is done, and it will serve as a silent prayer that all anger be transformed into love.

And isn’t that just what happened? You all turned words of upset and anger into words of love and support.

When my “Can Your Anger” miracle can is complete, I will photograph it and post on these pages with instructions, should you want to create your own ‘miracle can.’

Here’s to you all! Thank you, again.

Oh my gosh, what a wonderful idea! I am in the process of trying to look at the negatives in my life and looking for the positive in the situation....Ive done this with my thoughts, but taking it to a physical level by expressing it through a creative medium had not occured to me. My Coffee Can can!!! I wont look at it the same way. Ya'll all have a great day.

What a super idea. I think I will do that as a project for the kids at school. We will make "miracle cans" that have inspirational words for the children in the hospitals and fill the cans with little games and books to make the children feel better... oh, wait, even nursing home patients . take potting soil and seeds and plant a flower with a patient in a nursing home and go back and visit every weekend to visit the plant and watch the patients smile grow.... gee thanks for the inspiration... I was looking for weight loss tips and boy did I get more than I bargained for
