Water: A Holy Life Force (Part I)

Water: A Holy Life Force (Parrt I)
I’m betting y’all know the importance of water, the most plentiful liquid on earth. Water covers approximately 70 percent of the earth’s surface and is an essential component in most living things. Our bodies are more than 75 percent water, our blood is more than 80 percent water, our muscles more than 75 percent water and our brains more than 76 percent water!
Water is a natural appetite suppressant and helps us to digest our food. It even promotes weight loss and helps the body to metabolize fat into energy.
Did you hear that???? WATER HELPS THE BODY TO METABOLIZE FAT INTO ENERGY.
I’m going to say it again, because I clearly need to hear it again. WATER HELPS THE BODY TO METABOLIZE FAT INTO ENERGY.
I need to hear it again, because I am not drinking enough water. Me, the master of permanent fat removal; she who has permanently removed over 50 pounds; she who is guided by Our Lady of Weight Loss is not drinking nearly enough water.
Where did I get the idea that I am like a camel who can traverse the desert without water? (There’s no one to blame for that one. My mother never referenced camels that I can recollect.)
I am a mere mortal who is in need of water!
And so I ask you out there to support me in drinking more water. Join with me. Drink the holy liquid with me and together let us recite this prayer:

Dear Our Lady of the Holy Water,
Please may I thirst for water
and experience with every sip
its miraculous cleansing powers.
May my sins as well as fat be washed away
and permanently eliminated from my body.
And please,
May there always be a clean bathroom nearby.
Amen.
PS: As you can see, I am serious about weight loss, but not heavy! AND … there’s a giveaway happening now. YOU could win ME! Yes, I will be sent to you via carrier pigeon. Read on . . .

When I was in the USAF and went thru Survival School the instructors drilled into our heads to drink lots of water. They told us, “Never pass up water… you’ll never know when you come across more.” Kind of ominous, but the point was HYDRATE THYSELF! We were also told that the vast majority of headaches were the result of becoming dehydrated and if you just drank some water the headache would likely pass. It works, I’m here to tell you.
Now lately there have been some nay-sayers trying to tell us true believers that you don’t need eight 8 oz. glasses a day. Some even go so far as to say that you can actually harm yourself by drinking too much water. That’s true, but do you know how much you’d have to drink to do yourself any harm??? Well, it ain’t eight 8 oz. glasses a day, I can assure you!! So to the nay-sayers I say “Whatever, I’m having a glass of water many times a day.”
Finally, I hear people complain when I preach the Gospel of H2O, “But I have to go to the bathroom all the time.” To which I say, “Duh!! That’s the point!! You’re cleansing your body!” And you know what? If you’re not used to drinking a lot of water, sure you’ll have to go to the little boys/girls room more than before, but eventually your body will get used to it and things even out.
So I raise my crystal clear glass of “aqua vida” to you, Our Lady of Weight Loss and thank your for extolling the virtues of WATER!!
Peace,
DRSP

I’m drinking lots of water, and am pretty close to eight glasses a day. One of the first things I do when I go anywhere is check out the location of the nearest restroom. A few years ago I said to my neurlogist (I have MS)”All I do is go pee. Now is that from the MS, the diuretic I’m on to help with my blood pressure, or the fact that I’m ‘getting of an age’?” He replied “Yes.” I’m hosed! (So to speak.)

water is amazing, it’s crisp, cool satisfaction is wonderful and there’s just no substitute when you thirst. Yes, I drink a LOT of water. Tons, in fact. There’s no sugar (yay!) and no affeine (Boo!) and it doesn’t make you MORE THIRSTY like juice and soda does. It’s also amazing for your skin and DSRP is totally right, that after your body gets used to it, it balances out and you’re not running to the bathroom every 5 minutes. I like to drink it throughtout the day. I don’t count glasses anymore, but if I’m going out somewhere, I fill my water bottle (filtered, of cousre!) and I’m out the door!
Interesting trivia – water finds it’s own level, which is how the pyramids were built!!!
God Bless Water and Our Lady

You don’t have to buy expensive bottled water, either – don’t be a water snob; check out your local tap water; in my city, it tastes just fine and is safe. If your water does not taste good try boiling and cooling it first. This should eliminate “off” odors or tastes. Next step might be a home filter system or pitcher. There are also lots of water flavorings available now – some of them sugar-free (as in artificially sweetened) but there’s also a naturally flavored, no-calorie lemon powder that I swear by, to make water into something more special.
