Christmas Diet Tip #8: Keeping Perspective

posted by Janice Taylor, Editor | 6:46am Saturday November 8, 2008

Keeping Perspective: It’s NOT about your FAT; it’s about YOUR LIFE!
Your weight, your diet, your exercise plan is just one slice of your life pie.
Permanent weight loss is about living a balanced life. It’s about looking at all areas of your life – health, relationships, finances, career, fun, creativity, spirituality, physical environment – and creating them so that they support YOU to have the best life ever.
Focusing only on weight loss will not serve you well. If anything, you may lose weight, but you will most definitely find it.
Make a commitment to YOU, all of you, every aspect of you. Losing weight won’t fix what’s wrong with your finances. Gathering buckets of money, won’t help you to lose weight. Seek balance. Enjoy every aspect of your life!
Spread the word … NOT the icing!
Janice

Anyone out there remember the "Manwich?"  In 1969, Hunt's introduced its Manwich Sloppy Joe Sauce and it revolutionized the Sloppy Joe.  It sure was a staple in our kitchen.  My mother, the gourmet, used to break it out on special occasions.   No disrespect meant, Mom.  :) Here's

Regarding today’s newsletter about mental imagery: that’s exactly what I did in the “Commitment vs. Intention” one posted on the Nov. 2 where we had a pledge to sign and three things we could do right now to look/sound more committed to ourselves! My last response: “3. Keep in mind a slim, muscular, graceful me. That’s ME!”
Oh, and one week into our Christmas Diet (congratulations everyone!) and I think I lost a pound. :) If it turns out my scale is off, it doesn’t matter because I feel lighter and my clothes seem to fit me differently.
P.S. Thanks for the soy suggestion & perimenopause. I’m a vegetarian so I do eat good amount of tofu.
