Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness OBAMA by Janice Taylor
NOT invited to the Inaugural Luncheon in celebration of the swearing-in of our great nation’s 44th President? Don’t feel bad! As it turns out the meal that they are serving, is NOT Our Lady of Weight Loss approved. Oh sure, I realize that it is an important occasion; more than important – an historic occasion!
Nevertheless, as the world faces an obesity epidemic, you’d think they would have conferred with Our Lady of Weight Loss for some lean advice???
INAUGURAL LUNCHEON … Feast or FAT???
It is rather stunning, isn’t it? If you had been invited to the luncheon and ingested every bite, you may have had an amazing time, but you’d come home one pound heavier!!! Here’s the official doc-2009-recipes.pdf of the menu with the original recipes from the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies….

Seafood Stew, paired with a 2007 Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc
631 calories and 32 grams of fat
A Brace of American Birds (pheasant and duck) with Sour Cherry Chutney & Molasses Sweet Potato, paired with a 2005 Goldeneye Pinot Noir
1,534 calories and 77 grams of fat
Apple Cinnamon Sponge Cake and Sweet Cream Glace’, paired with Korbel Natural “Special Inaugural Cuvee”
883 calories and 33 grams of fat
3,048 calories! (wine and champagne not included) for lunch!!!

To those in the White House kitchens …
All Is Forgiven, Move On!
Enjoy this glorious day!

YIKES! Nearly a pound’s worth of calories. I know our President and First Lady both enjoy exercising, which is a good thing. They’ll both have to really work at keeping the pounds off if they continue eating like that.

Perhaps all this rich food may have had something to do with sending two senators to the hospital. If they keep up this kind of menu it will kill more politicians than our worst enemies!
