Our Lady of Weight Loss

Healing Chakra Foods, Chaos and Life-In-General

posted by Janice Taylor, Editor | 5:10pm Wednesday March 4, 2009

Hi Everyone! Today has been C-R-A-Z-Y!!! Here’s the low-down!
My 93 year-old mother’s neighbor who is 75 fell, so my mother is taking care of her! My mother is doing her laundry!! Can you believe it??? I’m like “Mom, are you kidding me? Can’t someone else (maybe a little younger) do her laundry; drag it to the laundry room? Load it up, fold it. Put it away!!!” (Can you hear my voice getting louder???)
Bottom Line: My mother insisted that she has way more energy than her friend (and me for that matter), and she’s happy to help her. What can I say? She’s a dynamo!!
Nevertheless, I was concerned. So, I took a train ride out to Long Island to check on my mother, who is, in turn, checking on her friend/neighbor. I’m telling you; such drama!!!
The good news (other than everyone is still breathing!!!) is that I had the presence of mind to grab 2 apples, a cheese stick and a bag of baked chips for the road! Happily, I had enough food reinforcements to get through the day without succumbing to emotional eating!
So, we’re all going to have to wait until tomorrow to hear the Sound of Weight Loss (a piece I am currently working on for YOU!!!).
In the meantime, there’s a new Beliefnet gallery that’s gonna’ knock your socks off! It’s called…
Healing Healthy Foods to Balance Your Chakras: How the colors on your plate can light the way to health by Deanna Minich, PhD, CN
Chakras (Sanskrit for “wheels”) are subtle centers in the energetic system of a living organism that take in and give out energy. Health is determined by the flow of energy from the 7 chakras into the metabolic network of the body. Blocked chakras, due to emotional, mental, and/or spiritual issues, can restrict energy flow and lead to illness.
Foods–especially foods that share colors with the chakras–carry vibrations that can activate or balance your chakras. Explore this gallery to find out which health conditions are associated with which chakra, and learn how to choose foods to bring your chakras into balance. Click for the first food for chakra healing. Click here for the full read!
AND for the BEST GALLERY EVER (if I say so myself), ‘tune into’ 13 Ways to Improve Your Luck!
More tomorrow, I hope about The Sound of Weight Loss, and we can discuss Chakra Foods, too, if you like!!!
Spread the word … NOT the icing!

I lose a few pounds a week then turn right around and regain them. I know I have a sweet tooth problem. Just don’t know how to stop it. I went on LA Weight Loss twice. Lost enough to get down to a size 16. Then I was put on medication that causes you to gain weight (risperdal)
Help, Help, Help

Hi Sherry,
This whole permanent weight removal stuff is TOUGH, even if you’re not on a medication that makes it even harder. Kudos to you for getting off the risperdal. A while back, Our Lady of Weight Loss talked about getting back on the wagon after you’ve fallen off of it. She said climbing back on the wagon was, in her mind, exercise. My personal excuse is that I have MS, so am not able to do much exercise. The two exercises I do (most days, but not every day)are climbing back on the wagon, and pushing my fat butt away from the table. I seem to lose the same #$%^ three pounds, over and over! Instead of looking at the total # of pounds I’d ideally lose which is overwhelming and depressing, I just try to remove three pounds at a time. Hang in there; with OLWL we can do it!!!
