This week’s Get Jiggy – JigSaw Sunday Puzzle is in celebration of both Albert Einstein’s birthday and Pi Day!
Albert Einstein, born on March 14, 1879 (died April 18, 1955) continues to be seen as one of the most beloved physicists, intellectuals and characters ever lived! A Nobel Prize winner (1921 in Physics), he is best known for his Theory of Relativity and the equation “E=Mc2.” “E” represents energy, “m”- mass, and “c” – speed of light in vacuum.
Pi is the Greek letter – ?. It is the symbol for the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. Math enthusiasts are big on Pi Day and celebrate it on March 14th. Pi = 3.1415926535… (Get it? 3.14 …)
Pi is an irrational number, which means that it will continue infinitely without repeating. William Jones first introduced the symbol in 1706. However, it be came popular in 1737 when it was adopted by the Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler.
Both Our Lady of Weight Loss and Janice Taylor (me), your Weight Loss Coach, are big on Pi Day! We celebrate it by whipping up the “You Don’t Have to be Einstein Tuna Casserole” from the best permanent weight loss book ever … All Is Forgiven, Move On (required reading for anyone who seriously wants to slim down while they laugh it up).
