Mother's Day Angel Postcard templateAs we all know, Mother’s Day is fast approaching! This year, in addition to giving my mother a homemade card (and a gift, of course), I thought I would send a mother’s day card to my children, too!
Why not? It’s an opportunity for us to share our thoughts on what it’s like to be a mother!
Here follow 10 of my favorite quotes, some of which are well-suited to send to our children; while some are better-suited to send to mother!

God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers. ~Jewish Proverb
Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body. ~Elizabeth Stone
Sing out loud in the car even, or especially, if it embarrasses your children. ~Marilyn Penland
Where we love is home – home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts. ~Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.
Mothers hold their children’s hands for a short while, but their hearts forever. ~Author Unknown
A Freudian slip is when you say one thing but mean your mother. ~Author Unknown
Sweater, n.: garment worn by child when its mother is feeling chilly. ~Ambrose Bierce
On Mother’s Day I have written a poem for you. In the interest of poetic economy and truth, I have succeeded in concentrating my deepest feelings and beliefs into two perfectly crafted lines: You’re my mother, I would have no other! ~Forest Houtenschil
A suburban mother’s role is to deliver children obstetrically once, and by car forever after. ~Peter De Vries
The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new. ~Rajneesh

How to make a mother’s day card: Mother’s Day Postcard.pdf
1. Take a hard piece of cardstock (or postcard) that is approximately 4″ x 6″. Or print out this Mother’s Day Postcard pdf template above.
2. Either type out and print quote that you love; or write it out in your best scroll.
3. Glue quote onto card.
4. Cut and paste pretty picture from a magazine onto the card. Maybe a flower or a bird.
5. Hand it to your mother (or your child!)
Spread the word … NOT icing!
