Even though it was hot enough to fry an egg on the street this morning (97 degrees and counting!), I resisted; and instead, I pulled out my blender from under the counter, dusted it off and declared it “Smoothie Season.”
A great way to start the day. Cold, refreshing, overflowing with antioxidants (from the ripe, luscious fruit) – smoothies are the best. Here are a few of my best recipes! Bottoms up!
SUMMER BERRY BLAST

Toss 1/2 cup blueberries, 1/2 cup strawberries (hulled and de-leafed), 1/2 cup pitted cherries, 1/4 cup 2% Greek Yogurt and a handful of ice into your blend and blend it baby, until smooth. Pour into a large glass (did I really have to tell you that?) and serve it up with a smile!
The R&O Special
Put 1/2 cup raspberry and 1/2 cup freshly squeeze o.j. in a blender and blend. How fast and easy was that??? And delish too!
Oh … what’s the “R” and what’s the “O?”
Raspberry and Orange! 🙂
P&B plus Love Smoothie
Toss 1/4 cup 1% low-fat milk, 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup, 1 tablespoons creamy peanut butter, 1/2 frozen sliced ripe banana (peel & slice bananas, toss in zip-lock bags, freeze for smoothies!), 1/2 cup plain greek low-fat yogurt (I like 2% best, but if you want to go fat-free, be my guest!) and blend! No ice needed ’cause the banana is frozen!!!
Made with love!
