Holiday Diet Tips!

Here is a very simple way to lose weight, drop pounds, or shed the excess layers of adipose tissue (call it what you like).

It’s called the 3-Bite Diet (a.k.a. 3-Bite Rule).   It’s simple, easy and guilt-free.  And … the 3-Bite Tip should come in handy come the holiday season, which is right around the corner. (Be sure to file in in your Holiday Tip File!)

People tell me that when the holidays come, they just can’t say “No!” to the Halloween Candy, the Thanksgiving pies, the Christmas cookies, Eggnog, Fruit Cake, et cetera.  And I say to them, “That’s okay.”  And It IS okay to “indulge” and enjoy your favorite foods; the cakes, pastries and potatoes; the cookies, candy and ice cream; the pasta, bread and butter – if you practice the 3-Bite Rule.

Here’s the SKINNY on the 3-Bite Diet!

Your favorite holiday foods don’t have to be off limit. No food will make you gain weight unless you eat too much of it. A simple way to enjoy your holiday treats is to eat them in smaller portions.

When you take the first bite, generally you are fully present (because you’re so excited to bite into that food that you’ve been salivating over) – and when fully present, you are able to taste 100% of the food.   When you take a second bite, you are able to taste 50%; third bite is 25% and, yes, exactly – by the time you get to the 4th bite it is pretty much over.

True enough?  First bites are the best; 2nd bites are the second best and it’s downhill from there.  So – why not practice the 3-Bite Diet Rule and STOP @ 3!

If you just can’t say “no,” say “3 small bites” please.  And then …
… Put the fork down and push away from the table!

Save the 3-Bite Rule in Your Holiday TIP Folder! Don’t have a Holiday TIP Folder?  Then make one!!! 🙂

Spread the word … NOT the icing,

Janice
