Want to FEEL BETTER, LOOK YOUNGER and GET A RAISE???

One of the best things you can do for yourself and for everyone around you is to smile. Smiling brings oxygen to your brain, immediately makes you feel better, and sends out comforting messages to others. Smiling pulls people in nice and close.

A true smile comes from genuine pleasure. Two sets of facial muscles are used to create this smile. The first set is in the cheeks that pull up the corners of the mouth; the second set is around the eyes. These muscles cause the eyes to narrow and crinkle.

Smiling can make you look like an inviting, accepting, likable and pleasant person (even if you're not). When you first meet someone, if you don't smile that person is likely to think that you're not interested in or attracted to them. They may even think you are a cold potato. So, even if you're feeling blue or simply not in the mood to smile, do yourself a favor - smile anyway. Fake it until you make it!

    Obama Eats and Pays ... recession proof recipe included

    Dig it! The President pays for his own food!!!

    Did you know that the first family pays for their own foods? True!

    The first family can pick whatever snacks they want and ask the chef to prepare the foods that they like, and then they will receive a bill at the end of the month. I understand past presidents and their families were surprised at the prices!!!

    What will the Obamas eat? Are they on a budget?
    I have it on good account that there will be some healthy changes in The White House!

    Often called a miracle food because it packs more nutritional punch than most veggies and heavily loaded with vitamin C, vitamin A and calcium, broccoli will be a mainstay on the menu. In addition, you might find a bottle or two of Organic Berry Tea in the President's fridge. He enjoys a big healthy gulp after his workouts! And finally, there will be raw nuts available for snacks. The operative word here is raw ... not overly salted, or dry-roasted! Raw and healthy!!

    Here follows one of Our Lady of Weight Loss's Fav Recipes ... just in case the White House Chef is in need of something simple, easy, and Our Lady of Weight Loss approved! Plus, it's a cheap eat! Recession proof.

    Presidential Chicken with Broccoli
    Ingredients: One whole boneless, skinless chicken breast (diced into 1/2" pieces) * One bunch fresh broccoli (cut into medium pieces) * 3-4 cloves garlic sliced or minced (Are you brave? Throw in more!) * Healthy-style pasta rigatoni approximately 6 ounces cooked al-dente * Olive oil

    Instructions: Prepare all ingredients and get out a large stir-fry pan.* Cook pasta and drain well. * When pasta is almost done, heat pan and add about 1 tablespoon olive oil, continue to heat. * Stir-fry chicken and garlic. * When chicken is uniformly cooked (no pink areas), add broccoli and continue to stir fry. * If ingredients too dry add just a little chicken broth or olive oil sparingly. * Add pasta, stir again, put lid on pan and let sit on low heat about 5 to 10 minutes. * Enjoy!

    Your NOT To Do List

    People often ask me, "How do you do it all?" To which I respond, "What makes you think I do it all? I don't. I can't remember the last time I cleaned, for goodness sake."

    Here's how to clear your calendar! Draw a line down the center of a piece of paper. On one side of the paper write 'to do' list, and then on the other side of the page write 'not to do.' Now, write out all you have to do on the to do side of the page. We really do have ridiculously long 'to do' lists, don't we?

    Here comes the fun part! Take a good look at your 'to do' list and take anything on it that someone else could do for you and move it to your 'not to do' list. For instance, take the laundry. Either find someone else in the house who is capable of tossing it into the washer and drier to do the laundry or send it out. Is food shopping taking up too much of your precious time? Order on-line or call-in a standing delivery to your neighborhood grocery store. Cleaning? Forgetaboutit. I'm lucky. My husband has a much lower tolerance to mess than I do. I can count on him to clean up!

    Lighten Your Load. Write out your Not to Do List today and get 'busy.'

    BECAUSE: A Mighty Powerful Convincer

    BECAUSE, YOU SAID SO!!!
    Chew on this:
    Which of the following three sentences is most likely to get you a raise?

    a. Boss, I'll quit if I don't get a raise.
    b. Boss, I need a raise now, please ...[and do dig deep].
    c. Boss, I need a raise, because life is expensive and I'm worth it.
    (Answer: c)

    Using "because," can significantly improve your odds of getting what you want, because people are more likely to do things when you say "because," simply because people like to have reasons for doing what they do!

    Why do I tell you this and what connection does 'because' have to Permanent Fat Removal?

    I tell you this, because I hear you using "because" quite a bit and you may not realize that you are unleashing the power of because on yourself to justify that piece of cake. You are selling yourself on the notion that you need that piece of cake. And when you do eat it ... congratulations you've just made that sale!

    More to YOUR point, here are a couple of examples of what y'all have said to me in private sessions, group tele-talks, in e-mails this past week.

    "I'm going to a party and will eat whatever the hostess prepares, because I don't want to hurt her feelings."

    "I'm taking the day off from exercising, because rain is predicted."

    "I'll do the mental-cises later, because I am in a crunch for time."

    Because is a mighty powerful convincer!
    Because introduces a direct reason to your mind. Your mind loves order and even if your 'because' could be challenged ...

    i.e. with regard to going to the party and eating whatever you like ... "How do you know that the hostess's feelings will be hurt? What would happen if you spoke to her before the dinner and requested the sauce on the side?" ... your 'because' is all your mind needs to hear. Because your mind seeks reason and order and 'because' delivers justification.

    This one single word gives you reason to believe, to accept, to justify, to do what you want.
