With the advent of electricity, we have created an artificial light that reaches far into the winter nights; thus, allowing us to stay up later than we should and keeping us working harder than we ought to. We don’t allow ourselves time to rest and renew. Nor do we allow ourselves time to let our minds wander … to dream.

he Winter Solstice marks a central part of nature’s cycle. It is a time of new growth, rebirth and renewal. It is a reminder that in order to begin anew, the old must end.
