Here is my newspaper column today on the one year anniversary of the death of Jimmy Sullivan. Special thanks to Kortney at deathbatnews.com for helping me coordinate this special tribute to the Sullivan family.

I agree Brad!!! I cry for the loss of Jimmy everyday…ppl think I’m crazy but I don’t care. I don’t want to move on, I don’t want to forget him…We’re having a memorial gathering for him on Ft. Pierce Beach (south east Florida)just after dark on the 28th…gonna be 1 of the hardest days of mine & my girls’ lives. NEVER FORGET!!! ?foREVer?

RIP foREVer. i still cry over the rev every now and then. yeah i didn’t know him and i never meant him, but the way he put all his heart and soul into his music and little bits in the dvd’s just made me feel like i was cool with him. i’ll never be able to move on

Thank you so much for sharing these photos of Jimmy and his family. It is so touching to see him in his private life. Jimmy has profoundly touched so many people in so many different ways (all positive).
I remember how I felt when I saw the news early the following morning and having to break the news to my daughters. It was so devastating that we found it very hard to listen or watch any A7X for weeks. It was just too painful. In the months after Jimmy’s passing we learned to remember Jimmy for all of his greatness and warm, fun loving style.
Jimmy touched my youngest daughter in such a way that she took up drums at age 6 and loves to remember Jimmy’s greatness on the kit. Fortunately, she got to see Jimmy perform at age 7 in 2008 at an A7X show in CT.
My brother-in-law also passed away at a young age in a similar fashion. One of my favorite memories that helped me get through the darkest of days was that he lived life to the fullest every single day of his short life. Not many people get the chance to do this in our fast paced world.
As far as A7X continuing to move on, I think it is very therapeutic for the members to continue as I am sure this is what Jimmy would have wanted and is part of the healing process. Continuing on does not mean forgetting or leaving Jimmy behind, but rather helps solidify Jimmy living on foREVer!

i know..i dont wanna move on either. its way too hard…i thought of Jimmy kinda as a brotherly figure in my life..ive never met him or been to a A7X show but those who have are very lucky.. Rest In Peace Jimmy
