Do you ever have a day when you’re just not that into God? In the harsh glare of reality, the One who looked so hot when you were all happy and having fun, looks like yesterday’s leftovers now that you’re feeling blue and stressed out.
It’s hard to go through the motions of loving the Almighty when you’re feeling everything but warm and fuzzy toward the One you’re blaming for a sorry state of affairs. It’s not fair and you know it, but what are you supposed to do when your faith falters?
Ask Diane—she’ll tell you. She was all dressed up with nowhere to go. God did not show up for their date. She packed up all of her troubles and tossed in her joy and gratitude, and like a cheap knock-off of the Hermes Birkin Bag, something was missing. She planned an intimate and meaningful session with her Creator, instead…nada. Not so much as a nanosecond of spiritual connection.
Diane solved her relationship problem by joining the crowd. She surrounded herself with people who find support in each other through good times and bad. She went to church. Diane found that her religious community is the go-to place to re-vitalize her “Gromance” with God. That’s right, capital “G” for growing your romance with God.
Everyday is not firecrackers and the 4th of July, when you’re in love. Just as patience, compromise and understanding is a must in a long lasting love match between two people, the same rules apply in a love match between you and your Creator. Make it work; true love is worth the work.
-Prayables
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
