God, Stop the Damn Oil Leak… We Obviously Can’t!

posted by Mark Herringshaw | 8:25am Friday May 28, 2010

There’s heat in the kitchen… And President Obama is catching that heat about his response – or lack there of – to the environmental disaster caused by the oil well explosion and leak in the Gulf of Mexico. Even the President’s 11-year-old daughter, Malia, is weighing in on the issue. Obama said, “You know, when I woke up this morning and I’m shaving, and Malia knocks on my bathroom door and she peeks in her head and she says, ‘Did you plug the hole yet, Daddy?’”

No doubt, this is bad… BP’s top official, Tony Hayward  who had previously claimed that the environmental impact on Gulf of Mexico would be modest, has changed their tune and today call it “environmental catastrophe.”  Meanwhile BP engineers continue to pump heavy mud into the leaking well in hopes of stemming the gushing oil.

It’s all bad… and everyone and no one is to blame… It’s a helpless feeling because this is a problem caused by humans that humans themselves can’t remedy… Even the best case now after weeks of futility will mean years of destructive fallout…  Scenarios like this are one of the reasons we started this blog, “Prayer Plain and Simple.” Sometimes the best thing we can do is pray, and ask God for help in halting the consequences of our own stupidity. This is one of those times. Yes, BP needs to work harder. Yes, the Federal Government needs to step up. But even their best efforts won’t be enough now. We need a miracle. So let’s ask…

“God, step in and stop the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico! We ask this because we don’t know what else to do!  We acknowledge that humans caused this problem, that our actions and inactions are now corrupting this beautiful and bountiful part of your planet. Forgive us. And then step in to act where we cannot. Give BP engineers supernatural wisdom to make the right, rapid decisions to remedy the leak. Give them stamina and creativity that is beyond their own capacity. Bless their technology so that it works even better than it is designed. Give governmental leaders, local, state and federal, unity and focus to deploy all their energies in the right direction. And beyond all this, please reach out your hand to protect the parts of your creation that will be damaged by this disaster. We humbly come to you to ask you for your grace. May the consequences of our stupidity, greed, laziness, and ignorance in this case be less than they should be! We know we should reap what we have sown, but here, we ask for a stay in your hand of judgment. We do not deserve your pardon here, but we ask it anyway! In Jesus name, fix this problem that we so pitifully cannot!”

Subject: Oil Leak
Hi,
My name is Scott Herron I work on the North Slope in Alaska in the oil field. I have emailed and emailed BP to show them how to stop the leaks, this is not a joke. They don’t need a team of scientists or anything much different than what they are using just a little different combination. I built a small scale model for the Kuwait oil well fires that worked perfectly , it will work for this also. It will 100% stop these leaks. They could have been stopped by now. If someone would just contact me, I would show them how. Like I said it’s not that much different than what they have been trying, except that this will work.

I asked God to direct me to the site that might help get my plan across, hope this is it. This is the solution nobody will listen.

This is a powerful prayer that indeed holds truth! The only way this oil leak will stop is from God’s grace…but only in his time. There is no time to point fingers at the who woulda and shouldas, fingers should be pointing upward in prayer. But of course, you can’t offend anyone by infringing Christianity beliefs on everyone! When will we get it…Our God is the only one who can and will stop this leak…in his time.

Suggestion to Scott: If you are unable to reach BP try the U.S. government which probably isn’t going to be any easier but I’d give the EPA a try.

I love this prayer; I printed it out to give to church members, family, and friends. When we recognize that God is our source, we will look to Him for everything–whether a disaster hits or not. Thanks so much for making this available to all. God bless you!

It is a beautiful prayer and I will pass it on. I was not happy about the way it got my attention and was very upset to see the curse word (Damn) being used when we should show the upper most respect when talking, refuring are praying to God.
Just my opion and sometimes we are the voice for others.
Truly,

Couldn’t we set up a world day of prayer for God’s help in stopping this leak? Why do we not hear more from our church leaders? Please pass this beautiful prayer on to as many people as possible.

Americans are at their wit’s end calling on God to stop the flow of crude oil in the Gulf of Mexico from the very pit of hell, from where America has descended gradually since the tyrannical Justices of the US Supreme Court in 1963, declared the Holy Bible unconstitutional, after being America’s main moral guiding light, and main teaching manual for over two hundred and fifty years. Americans are now reaping the immoral fruits of godlessness cultivated in public schools throughout America. Consequently Doctors today are committing murder through abortion, and euthanasia legally, married couples are divorcing legally, sodomites are sodomizing, and marrying legally, and the immoral dumbed-down losers of America have only excuses, excuses, and nothing but excuses. We cannot win the war on terror in the Middle East, we cannot fix the national debt, we cannot stop millions of gallons of crude oil spewing into the Gulf of Mexico, we cannot fix the poor state of the economy, we cannot fix the rampant unemployment plaguing our nation, we cannot stop the ever increasing violence in the inner cities, and public schools, we cannot stop the influx of illegal aliens, and illegal drugs, and we cannot, we cannot, we cannot…. No doubt, America is a country of religious, but godless losers. This is the price Americans have to pay for tossing God, and His Son Jesus Christ right out of the heart of America, sixty-three years ago by the tyrannical justices of the US Supreme Court after establishing an illegal wall of separation between Church and State. This is only the beginning; it will get much worse as surely as the sun rises in the morning. The Holy Spirit of God spoke through the prophet Isaiah, and said, “For the nation or kingdom that will not serve you will perish; it will be utterly ruined.”
