Indonesian Volcano Erupts Again

posted by Mark Herringshaw

Mount Merapi, the volatile Indonesian volcano has erupted again killing more than 100 people. Today’s blast was the most powerful eruption in more than a century. Dozens of bodies were found today after searing gas avalanched down on villages below the mountain. Houses and trees were torched and whole communities were incinerated as residents fled.

“God we pray today for Indonesia. This nation has suffered a series of devastating natural disasters. Now today, this volcanic eruption has added to the crises. Bring protection for those still at risk. Bring comfort for those who have lost loved ones and homes. Bring healing to those wounded physically and emotionally. In the wake of these events show yourself a loving and merciful and actively involved savior! In Jesus name, bless Indonesia…”

Der Spiegel: Geologists Warning Of “Mega-Eruption”: A rough estimate indicates that there is three times more magma than what was ejected by the Indonesian volcano Tambora in 1815 – the biggest eruption in the last 10,000 years, which led to a cooling of the climate globally… Another Iceland volcano may be about to erupt… National Geographic (November 19, 2008): “MYSTERIOUS ASTROPHYSICAL OBJECT that’s bombarding Earth with cosmic rays”:

Yes, how about a prayer for no more eruptions? Then a prayer for no global warming? Then a prayer to end hunger and strife. Think big, not small.
