I don't know about you- but I found this McCain campaign ad "The One" to be one of the most offensive ads we have seen in American politics to date. At best, this ad implies that those who plan to...
If you can't find mud to sling, you mock their beliefs. The McCain campaign has taken a wrong turn here and You can add my voice of complaint.
FDR gave hope to America in its darkest hour, JFK told us the we can do for America and lead us into space. BHO tells us we can believe, we can change and we can hope. Yes that is Messianic, he bring a message of Salvation to our Nation and that is a good thing. But Obama is a man, not a god. And he says he can do all that he claims if we roll up our sleeves and make it happen ourselves.
I guess McCain is afraid of that.

Where is their respect for, and fear of, the Lord? These people are the worst type of hypocrites. They sow fear and hate, not love and mercy. It is said, "You shall know them by their fruits." And boy do we have lot of rotten strewn across the globe because of their arrogance and haughtiness. John McCain is now showing his true character by resorting to false and blasphemous ads like this! He has little or nothing in common with the Christian community in this country. He is just out for the glory of one person, John McCain.

Mara, why pull punches ?
John McCain's new attack ad, directed against McCain opponent Barack Obama, uses specifically religious and maximally loaded terms, such as "the anointed one" and "self-anointed" to describe Barack Obama. McCain's ad states that "...he [Obama] has anointed himself, ready to carry the burdens of the world."
What does the term "anointing" refer to ? What does "self-anointing" mean ?
These terms are used overwhelmingly in a Christian context. The very word "Christ" means "the anointed one", or simply "anointed", and one who is "self anointed" means, in that expressly religious context, "the Antichrist". By definition, the "self anointed one" is the anti-Christ: a "false messiah".
Meaning - McCain has little wiggle room here. His ad appears to have openly charged Barack Obama to be in league with the devil.

The ad is funny and right on point: BHO is running a substantively vacuous campaign as a *political* Messiah, at least in part because his record is thin and, where there is some substance, well to the left of America's mainstream. But people are enthralled, as his campaign intends, and it thus befalls his experienced adversary to disenthrall them. If BHO doesn't want to be parodied for his empty rhetoric, he should say something substantive.
Your effort to deconstruct the ad and reconstruct it as an accusation that Obama is the anti-Christ reminds me of the American Family Association and like-minded folks from the religious right. Every homosexual character on a sitcom is an effort to "advance the gay agenda." Locally, they even tried to boycott the newspaper because it wouldn't stop running the comic "For Better or Worse" when one of the adolescent characters concluded that he was homosexual.
They, and you, need to lighten up and not see every political blow as a low blow.

Have you looked or listened to Obama lately. He thinks he is already the President. How do you know he is not the Anti-Christ. Study Daniel and the book of Revelation. You figure it out, but either way he is not someone I feel comfortable being President. Wait til you read the book coming out about him. Over 700 footnotes and almost all are his own words, you should be scared of him if you are not already.
What kills me is he went to the Middle East , was blown off by the troops and skipped visiting the injured because he needed to get his workout in. Nice Priorities for a man that then went to a pep rally for himself in Germany/Europe. What a jerk. God please help us all wake up and really listen to what he stands for.

Come on - Offensive? Maybe a silly add, but it is not offensive. Like most adds, it creates a caricature (why I never pay attention to them. I saw the title asserting McCain portrays Obama as the anti-Christ and found nothing of the sort. It just makes fun of Obama.
Also, to James who asserts racism is alive and well in the USA, come on. If you based that assertion on this silly ad, your ability to reason is suspect. I should have never seen this post, it is crying wolf. Uh, Ken.... my comment about racism was not directed towards the ad, but towards the comment posted just prior to mine - where the poster suggested that maybe Obama IS the anti-Christ. Sometimes it's hard to tell whether people don't like Obama because he's (1) a Democrat, or because (2) he's black. I suspect a lot of the antipathy towards him comes from (2).

It seems to me that a touch of messianism is a common trait among presidential hopefuls -- and not necessarily a bad thing, so long as it is only a touch. Wanting to help heal the world? Why else should one seek the presidency? Indeed, I wonder what John McCain's honest answer to the question, "Why do you want to be president?" would be. Obama seems to me to have a sound sense of self. He is flawed, as are we all, and he knows and admits it -- as many of us do not. (I might here add: Especially those whose comments here are crude, insulting.) Was Mario Cuomo's "city on a hill" less messianic in its flavor than Obama's "yes we can"?
It is easy to dismiss words such as "We are the change we've been waiting for." Easy, but seriously mistaken. Those words signify a theory of governing quite different from what we've become used to, whether from Democrats or Republicans. They suggest a bottom-up rather than a top-down approach; they suggest a constituency that stays mobilized after the election. Whether such things are possible, I do not know. But they are worth a shot. In Obama's case, I assume they derive from his experience as a community organizer, now writ large.
Incidentally, messianic pretensions are not merely a Christian issue. Jews have had their own experience with false messiahs, and surely Stalin, Hitler, Mao (and these days Mugabe) provide evidence that messianism does not require a religious foundation at all.

It is absolutely offensive and i a ashamed that no pastor, Bishop or Evangelist has openly condemned this. I was washing one Muslim debate yesterday and you can imaging how they were mocking America, as a country without value for the faith they claim they believe in.
The worst of all is that the McCain campaign have taken all the churches in this country for a fool cos they believe they will be able to rally Christians with this and it seems to be working.
This is one aspect i respect Muslims, people will say they are violence, its not, but simply respect for the Almighty God.

You're confused about blasphemy. To pretend to be the Messiah is blasphemy and a violation of the First Commandment. To uncover and reveal this unholy arrogance and pretense (as this ad does) is truly prophetic. Compounding his errors Mr. McCain then explains how he is using humor to make his point. What does he find so funny about the Bible? Wait a sec. Let's not assume that only Obama supporters are emotional in their enthusiasm. There is a strong, emotional content to those who support McCain based on his representation of American heroism and individualism. Listen to many of his supporters. They are as irrational about voting for a brave POW ( and perhaps the subliminal balance of something good coming out of that war) as we--well, me anyway--are about voting for a liberal of color who speaks of unity and hope. We're voting for him =because= he is inspirational. The McCain campaigners might believe that's a foolish reason to vote for someone but that's a myopic denial of their own attachment to McCain (to say nothing of their near beatification of Regan).
C'mon, kids, we're all a whole lot more goofy-headed than we'd like to believe. :-)

The selective outrage against McCain is patently hypocritical.
Have we forgotten that the Obama-as-Messiah observation has been a media theme -- begun by the political LEFT, no less -- for almost two years:
(1) Slate ran a story BACK in February 2007 entitled, "The Obama Messiah Watch." Look for it here: http://www.slate.com/id/2158578/
(3) Let's not forget that Senator Hillary Clinton mocked Obama's "messianic complex" in Rhode Island on February 25, 2008: "The skies will open, the light will come down, celestial choirs will be singing and everyone will know we should do the right thing and the world will be perfect,”
The delicous irony about this McCain ad is that it was "progressives" and the Obama campaign who BEGAN this "Messiah" theme a long time ago. Be careful of what you wish for :-)

No true Christian would ever call another human "THE ONE" because it's close to blasphamey. That honor exclusively belongs to our loving Almighty Creator.
I'm deeply disturbed that he gets a free pass on this. He's insulted the Creator, and trvialized christian faith,by equating it with something obscene and profane, like worldliness.
He needs to be held accountable for using the two young ladies in the Ad,to further his career.Because this vile man has no morals (He cheated on, and left his first wife)and married his current wife within a month.I would strongly ask that he apoligize to the Christian community!!!

This ad is right out of Rove's playbook. It is 100% sending a message to Evangelicals that Obama is the anti-christ. If you thought gays and abortion brought out the vote for Bush, try Obama as the anti-christ. The MSM is so clueless they are hyperventilating over McCains ads as racist when they are really coded messages to wingnut Evangelicals. Rove and McCain's campaign must be laughing their heads off.
The series of novels called Left Behind on rapture and the antichrist have sold over 65,000,000 copies. Yes, 65,000,000. The main character is a young charismatic politician who comes out of nowhere to lead the country after the rapture. There is such a disconnect between evangelical culture and ordinary Christians. Most Catholics, Protestants, Jews have no idea what crazy stuff is believed in Evangelical churches. Good article on the subject:

Being an atheist doesn't necessarily preclude me from agreeing with your rationality, does it?
It is wrong, in every single instance, to use religion to the advantage of a political campaign. There's just no way around it: You're using something as deeply personal as religion to convince voters that you're the right person for the job. How about any other prospective employee try to tell that to the interviewer, hm?
As for Obama race-baiting: It'd be super-helpful to your 'cause,' if you can call it that, if you had replaced 'last week' with 'his entire campaign.' He's been saying those things since the beginning of the primaries - he's always essentially said, 'They're going to say I have a funny name and that I don't look like the other presidents.' And he's right - look at what McCain's campaign has been doing. I remember reading an article about a McCain staffer forwarding by the thousands emails filled with false accusations and falsified quotes, trying to indicate that Obama's a Muslim when he's not.
As an atheist, you may think it's hard to vote for someone with a religious person, who is so public about it as Barack. But it's not - I believe that we, as Americans, should stop voting with our religious texts and our party ID cards, and start voting by our common values, values that actually all of us can share. As much as I would love to see some more atheists on the ballot, it's not yet the time.
In a country where there are still people teaching their children intolerance in the name of their religion, even though their religion is supposedly about tolerance, there's just not a place for an atheist in the white house.
Yet.

Obama's a man running for president during a time when people feel disillusioned, worried, and tired. And many people like him. They're not just a bunch of masses deceived by the anti-christ! Goodness gracious, this is low, and the McCain camp knows exactly what they're dong with that ad. It exploits Christianity itself and fearful people who might be affected. I suppose the good gnus is they are already scraping the bottom of the barrel. The ony thing left is to acuse Obama of kidnapping the Linberg baby, assasinating Arch Duke Ferdinand, and causing the extinction of dinosaurs. If all they have is accusations about their opposition, then that means they have nothing good to say about their candidate. So far that is all I have seen. No one has much good to say about McCain except that he has served the country honorably and that he is a nice guy (and he is, I've met him). He would basically become the National Grandparent - nice but not what isneeded in the ruff 'n tumble arena of world politics (I am not sure quite how to characterize his wife - except I have the uneasy feeling that she would become the step mother of fairy tales - rarely a happy role). Talk abut condemned by faint praise.
Until they learn to build their candidate up rather than tear their opposition down there is little hope for the Hefelump Party.

I'm not offended by the ad. Being a person of the Christian faith, I have to admit that I have seen some qualifying qualities in this man that makes his being the antichrist a "possibility". I think people are spending waaaayyy too much time thinking about that, though. If Obama turns out to be a regular guy, and this is most likely, then the people who have been running around and sounding this alarm are going to feel embarrassed, and in the long run it's just going to create a mockery of the whole subject that will only do harm to the message when the real deal comes along.
Do I believe Obama is the antichrist? I give it a very strong maybe. What will I do about it? Nothing, and that's what everybody else should be doing. This may surprise you, but it really doesn't even matter whether Obama is the/an antichrist, or not. When this prophesied leader does make his appearance, the primary responsibility of the Christian community will be to concentrate on spreading the good news of Jesus Christ and monitoring our own spiritual health. It's that relationship with Jesus that will keep peope from taking the mark, not by having a Salem Witch Trial-like process where people start finger pointing.

I laughed out loud when I saw the ad. The reaction here just further supports the contention that neither Obama nor his supporters have any sense of humor when he is being skewered...
In case you didn't pay close attention, the ad was mocking Obama and his campaign for all of the messianic rhetoric they use - talking about how the day he clinched the nomination would be remembered as "the day the oceans began to recede and the planet began to heal itself". If the ad helps a few people to see through the empty mantras of "hope" and "change", without any substance, then it will have accomplished its goal, I imagine.
By the way, if everyone keeps crying "racism" every time anyone criticizes or makes fun of Obama, people are going to get real tired of it very fast.

hey people, if you are reading this posted, i found something interesting about the apocalipse and today's world. the apocalipse said " one third of the world population will lose their lifes in half of a secound by a big explossion"" and also said " and the moon and the star will fall down from the sky". if the comet that is about to impact the earth in 2012 is true, then that must be the statement that said "one third of the world population will lose their lifes in half of a secound by a big explossion" because only such a thing can kill so many people so fast like that. and also if the comet impact the earth, based on nasa, a lot of dust will cover the entire earth and then everything will go dark for years. that also state the statement that said "and the moon and the star will fall down from the sky" meaning that it would be so dark after the comet that it would be impossible to see the start from earth ( the star will fall down from the sky"
well that is my believe. also if the anticrist is real, then he must show up now that we are in 2008 and be as good as possible and hero to the people as he can so when the comet hit the earth in 2012, he would take over the world because that would be the moment where people need more help so that is the perfect time for him to shows up. so think for a secound, obama, nice guy, appear in 2012, nice speech and very intelligent, promise peace and a new begining..hhhmmmmm, i think that we should be prepared for the worst because it is meant to be happen and there is nothing we can do to stop it exept getting toguether with god (jesus and his father) to save our lifes. but remember " whoever try to save his life by joining the anticrist will lose his life, and whoever loses his life because of jesus will save his life" .. people please remember that the human boddy is a temporary carrier that hold our soul so we can follow god in this life experience, but the thing is that the body is not more important than your soul. and so lets prefer to lose our body instead and save our soul.

I am not sure of the connection between beliefnet and Obama but I am sure there is a connection between beliefnet and astrology..And I am equally certain that astrology was the birthplace of ALL PAGAN GODS and all black arts, divination, tarot, curses, etc..Astrology was the doctrine and foundation of all ancient religions on earth (except isrealites)and is now trying to make its way into Christianity......Obama himself believes as does new age and Helena Blavatsky both of which are based on astrology..Looks like satan is again trying to convince men his way is gods way.. Then, at a minimum, the ad is a lie, because there is zero evidence Obama belives he is "mankind's saviour." That is a dishonest gloss you put on him and the McCain campaign is obviously putting on him.
So, may I suggest that if you want to lie about Obama, please do so elsewhere. People with actual consciences and who take their honor seriously are discussing this issue. If you want to lie, I am sure Hannity of Limbaugh have a forum for you to frequent.

Any Christian who calls him or herself a Democrat (or vise versa) should check out this link. It’s a great analysis of this ad and near the bottom is a break-down of all the crazy illusions to the rapture, the Left Behind series, Obama being the anti-Christ, Revelation, and a plethora of other religious icons and imagery. This ad isn’t a joke and it was not made light-heartedly, as the McCain camp has said. Every word and scene was deliberate and potentially damaging to the Obama campaign because it feeds on people’s misguided fears. Worth a look:

Your comment "astrology was the doctrine and foundation of all ancient religions on earth (except isrealites)and is now trying to make its way into Christianity" is one of the most ignorant statements I have read on the "blogosphere" - and that's saying a lot. your statement is not even loosely based on historical fact. There would be no 'isrealites' if it weren't for the humanitarian policies of Cyrus the Great (especially the Edit of Restoration) - one of those ancient types you refer to who worshipped 'PAGAN GODS', and followed astrological signs.
And your quote "Astrology is original sin doctrine..." - are you kidding me? That doesn't even make sense. "Obama himself believes as does new age and Helena Blavatsky both of which are based on astrology..." That isn't even a sentence.
I really am attempting to avoid a derisive tone, but your statements are borderline absurd. I am not the most intelligent person in the world; I'm no better than you, but dear human being, read a book or two. Satan isn't some living breathing red-painted pitchfork-wielding demon waiting around the corner who's going to grab you by the hair and take you to H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks. It's a metaphor. It's a symbol. It's the personification of the terrible things that we're all capable of, that we feel in our heart every time we make a decision involving morality, that temptation which is defeated through a conviction for our higher nature, our better selves, that which is divine in all of us. No one is perfect. What was the 'original sin'? Eating from the tree of knowledge. The Garden of Eden harbors the tree of life as well. This is an allegory - not an historical event.
It's sad. You live in fear of dying and going to a burning pit forever - it's not REAL. It's representative. It's mythology. The authors meant it as such. Believe me - you'll get more out of it seeing it that way.

James , I think you need to do some research, for instance begin with the BOOK OF ENOCH.. Enoch was a legiamate prophet and his words were discovered AGAIN with the dea seas crolls.. Enoch said one of the fallen angel of Gensis 6 taught astrology to men.. His name was no less BARAKiel..I am convinced that you James are new age and are a true unbeliever of the bible and of truth.. you sir are the one living in a fairy tale world where there is no hell and where the devil is a powerless little wimp or imagineary figure. The entire world practiced astrology and worshiped the gods of astrology.. better read more before you speak..
And James, have you seen Obama's new poster where his subliminal message is to convince fools like you that he is THE TREE OF LIFE...type in OBAMA TREE OF LIFE...
Obama himself has confinced me that he is satan and is as usual trying to sit in gods seat and claim he is JESUS.. IE the tree of life..

Amen Ruth, it's good to see there are at least some people still left in the world that truly believe in God's word and the Bible. Just remember, when Israel is surrounded by their enemies and the sun darkens, keep looking up. People do not realize that Christians are not afraid of dying, we're for the first time, really afraid for our families, our loved ones, our friends, because we want them to be with us.
God Bless You Ruth

I think the ad by John McCain speaks not only to his ignorance but to further prove he does not understand the American people. Ads made to induce fear are the same things Hitler and other extremist use when their message is lacking truth or common sense.
I have never understand why right winged Christian's think their way is the only way. It is minds like that that deter many souls from being saved. You interpret the bible as you please and only want others to do the same, be just like you and fit into your small box. Someone earlier spoke about being gay, if the majority of so called "Super Christians" researched the bible instead of just skimming it would know that in the original text, before it was interpreted there was no mention of the word gay or homosexual. Those words were put in the bible for political purposes. How dare you say that left-wingers are not good Christian's. My faith and spiritually is between God and me. I will be judged when I met him and so will everyone else. The last thing that anyone needs on this Earth is to be judged. By being an open-minded witness will bring more people to God then and closed minded person who judges.

I think Ms. Vanderslice must be out of valium. Her sleight of hand really isn't very sleight. First she says "many" are reading it more darkly suggesting that McCain portrays Obama as the Anti-Christ. Then all of a sudden "it is beyond offensive" to make that connection and "how low can we go?" What connection? McCain didn't do anything of the sort! I'm an African American Christian and I'm perfectly ok with this. In fact, its hilarious and I plan on voting for McCain. Ms. Vanderslice, please take a deep breath, here's a glass of water, now be nice and take your pill.

Aimee - In your post you mention the "gay right-wing issue". About 1-1/2 years ago I read thru the bible in 90 days. It was great because it helped me see the whole of God's word, when normally I just meditate on a chapter here and a chap. there. But Leviticus chp. 18 lays out a pretty good guideline for what God desires our sexual relationships to look like, and verse 22 says a man having a sexual relationship with a man is detestable...it doesn't say "Gay" or "Homosexuality" but does it have to?
Hopefully any right-winger talking about homosexuality isn't claiming it as their way but rather God's based on Leviticus & really the whole of scripture (which I meant to get back to when I talked about reading the whole Bible). Even as a heterosexual woman I believe having a sexual relationship outside of the one I have with my husband would be wrong - sin.
You are coming across fairly definitive for a woman who believes in being open-minded. Statements such as " Those words were put in the bible for political purposes" have me scratching my head. Are you really in a position to claim that? Is that being open minded?
Thinking everyone has to share the same belief about homosexuality is also a Hitler-ish mind set.
On the political side I am an independent. I will vote for McCain this fall mostly because he is the more humanitarian of the candidates. And secondly because a bigger government is not appealing to me, I believe our system is fairly corrupt. The taxes are out of control and will cost some of my family members more than 60% of their incomes (if Obama gets in)- with absolutely no government accountability on how that is spent. Does this make anyone else think of the Boston Tea Party?

Even MORE hysterical than the ad (certainly tickled my funny-bone!) are these comments!! The Anti-Christ, for Pete's sake??? What I heard and saw was a clever poke and prod at Mr. Obama's own grandiose delusions of being "the One" who never has doubts (let alone a sense of humility), a "light to shine down" and inspire "an epiphany" among the American people! Looks to me and sounds like, in his own words, all the messianic allusions are none other than Mr. Obama's own.

Please. If you actually believe this is a REAL McCain ad. you're clearly disconnected from reality. This is a pieced together "produced for YouTube" creation. Wake up evangelical wackos--this cobbled together, edited out of context set of soundbites from Obama is nothing more than a Swift Boat/MoveOn.org inspired creation. Judge the candidates fairly and make your choice after watching live interviews and the upcoming debates.

IF bHo REALLY wanys to HELP America,,,, HE SHOULD:
1. Go to Iraq.
2. STAY THERE.
Any thinking person knows he will do NO good FOR America.
Unless,,,,
1. You don't like your BIBLE.
2. You don't like your right to bear arms.
3. You don't mind higher taxes, you know, to give all those damn illegals free EVERYTHING, but,,, wait, that's right,,, his "divinefulofsh*tness" will free them with amnesty. But, no guns. Don't worry though, he will still find lots of things to waste your tax dollars on.
4. You don't mind being a pawn in his plan for so called "change"
5. I could do this all night, but, a lot of damn good reasons NOT TO VOTE FOR bHo are posted here. I think the best reason not to vote for this TBP is: I LOVE AMERICA.

The McCain camp says that they are just having a little fun with these ads about Obama being "The One." I think if evangelicals really think about it, they will realize that McCain is just as much making fun of them as he is making fun of Obama. My opinion is that McCain is making fun of them for their propensity to be driven by their frenzied fears about anything connected to the end times.
And if he is just having a little fun, then it's frat-boy humor at best. I have voted for the Republican Religious Right candidate for 20 years, but I think I want to stop watching the "Frat-Boy Goes to the White House" show.

I don't know if Obama is the antichrist, but he is EVIL. I don't use that term often. It's hackneyed & makes me sound like a bible-thumping "born again", but I can not come up with any term other than this to describe somebody who advocates under color of law, mass-murder. We might agree that Hitler, for example, was "evil" for this reason. Well, how about an Illinois senator who repeatedly votes against protecting newborns who survive despite the best attempts of a gynecologist who performs a late-stage abortion as a premature delivery for the explicit purpose of having the child non-viable. How about an illinois senator who would allow legal sanction for having such a living child placed in a dumpster after delivery?
Mind you, I believe the Supreme Court fashioned a splendid compromise in Roe v. Wade, but I also believe this crosses the line into something no civilized society can sanction. Obama voted repeatedly to allow this under color of law.
There is more this neo-Hitler is hiding folks. Much more. I had thought I'd vote for Bob Barr or just not vote at all. But after doing a little digging on where this guy lives & where he's from, I'm very frightened to see him this close to the presidency. There is so much there behind this campaign of personality he's waging. Hitler gave great speeches too!

Guns are made for killing. Thou Shalt Not kill. Who doesn't know his Bible?

Intelligent human beings, Jim, think about more than the here and now. They plan ahead. They care about issues like extinction of natural habitats, and of their children's long term educational possibilities, and, oh, not committing genocide. Sometimes it means you pay a few dollars more here and there.
>4. You don't mind being a pawn in his plan for so called "change"
Better than being a pawn in complacency.
>5. I could do this all night, but, a lot of damn good reasons NOT TO VOTE FOR bHo are posted here. I >think the best reason not to vote for this TBP is: I LOVE AMERICA.
If you love America, then why do you obviously hate so many people in the country? I suspect you love rich, white, conservative America, and not the real America. And for that matter, why do you allegedly love America? I mean, if you had been born in Sweden or something, would you still love America, or are you just buying into nationalism because you've never questioned it?
One final thought -- when you repeatedly draw attention to Barack Obama's middle name, Hussein, then what you're really doing is just shallowly poisoning people against him with the tool of racism and xenophobia. Disagree with his policies all you like, but you are revealing your own lowly fear of anyone not like you (e.g. white), which hardly makes you sound like a reasonable human. The fact that you can't get past his name and hope not-so-secretly that others won't either is the most superficial kind of ad-hominem argument, and you are making the world a worse place for your unsubtle insecurity.
God bless the whole world.

How can Christians have so much anger, or fear? Why are so many responses to reasoned comments personal attacks? How can one "square" the current President's actions with Christian teaching? Is calling people names the best way to secure a good future for our children? This country is so blessed, where does all the spite and anger come from? I don't get it. What we do with the gifts God gives us - 90 per cent of the planet would love to be in our shoes, and be happy. Yet so many Americans seem so miserable and willing to blame everyone else for their problems. What would Jesus do, indeed.

I agree with Donna! Peace begins in the womb! There will be no peace in the world until there is peace in the womb. Who would Jesus bomb? HOW ABOUT WHO WOULD JESUS ABORT? Americans should have to witness an actual abortion. Most have no clue what abortions are really like. We certainly don't see anything about them in the main stream media. We all started out at conception. Nothing was added to us from there except food, oxygen and time and here we are all in different stages of our lives : conception, infancy, toddlerhood, puberty, young adulthood, adulthood and old age. If you take food, oxygen and time away from anyone at any stage they will die. We either are or are not unrepeatable, irreplaceable, unique miracles of God or we're not. If my husband of eleven years who I cherish dies can I just swap him out or replace him with husband #2? Is my first daughter the same as my last daughter or do I love them each for the unique gift they are? Peace begins in the womb!

Dr. Alveda King, neice of Dr. Martin Luther King who will NOT be voting for Obama says in her link, African-American outreach on www.priestsforlife.org site, "Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in America. 78% of their clinics are in minority communities. Blacks make up 12% of the population, but 35% of the abortions in America. Are we being targeted? Isn't that genocide? We are the only minority in America that is on the decline in population. If the current trend continues, by 2038 the black vote will be insignificant. Did you know that the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, was a devout racist who created the Negro Project designed to sterilize unknowing black women and others she deemed as undesirables of society? The founder of Planned Parenthood said, "Colored people are like human weeds and are to be exterminated." How is her vision being fulfilled today?" Obama promised Planned Parenthood Action Fund last year,(see my next post)
Sheila
October 10, 2008 5:53 AM
Obama promised Planned Parenthood Action Fund last year,"The first thing I'd do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act." This would wipe away state laws limiting abortion, undoing decades of legal work, research and educational successes. Obama is NOT our candidate and I pray for him to see how racist Planned Parenthood is preying on the black community. The incredible Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. could rally people to fight racism to defeat the injustice of segregation and inequality. The unborn who are "slaves of the womb", our brothers and sisters cannot rally themselves. We must speak for them. And lets not kid ourselves that abortion is good for women www.silentnomoreawareness.org has united many, many women who regret their abortions. Abortion may be legal today but it is in no way safe. Women's chances for breast and cervical cancer rise rapidly after an abortion and it does one heck of a job on their psyche. Planned Parenthood is against informed consent because less abortions equal less dollars. Who's biased, crisis pregnancy volunteer clinics or $Planned Parenthood$?!? Women need to feel safe to admit they regret their abortion instead of criticized for rejecting the "pinnacle of freedom women have won for themselves." The silent no more women have been persecuted for speaking out about their trauma and pain. As a Christian the Bible is clear! In the first chapter of the Book of Jeremiah verses 4-5,"Now the word of the Lord came to me saying"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations." So God knows who He is making before He makes them and He consecrated Jeremiah BEFORE he was born. Also Psalm 139:13-16: (13) "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. (14) I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. (15) My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, (16) your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book BEFORE ONE OF THEM CAME TO BE." Google pro-life quotes and the Bible and you'll find tons more. 4000 babies are killed by abortion everyday. 40 MILLION since abortion was made legal. Compare that to the casulties of the Iraq war. Compare it to all the wars. Abortion by far has been the worst scourge and is it being covered non-stop by the media like the war is? No! What if 4000 citizens of the U.S.A. were being marched into gas chambers everyday in a U.S. city? This would surely be covered in the mainstream media! But this is infact happening everyday in our "civilized" society when babies are being rippped and torn limb from limb from their mother's wombs. Babies are being born feet first except for their little heads, then scissors inserted into their heads, brains suctioned out and then after being claimed officially dead are removed the rest of the way from their mother's womb. This is what happens in every partial birth abortion. How about saline aborions where a salt solution is injected into the mother's amniotic fluid and so a baby breaths it in and is burned both on the inside and outside of its body and it suffocated to death. These are not the actions of a civilized society or norms of feminine progress. These are the tactics of Nazi Germany and other evil regimes! Obama even voted against the Born Alive Act which called for medical assistance to be given to a baby who survived an abortion, check out www.bornalivetruth.org for real life stories. Let's be a life giving and loving society. Let's breathe hope into women in crisis and speak to them about choices that will not harm them or their child. Let's share the hope of Adoption not the scourge of abortion because unless you're an elitist Jesus wouldn't abort anyone! So if you want PEACE remember they'll be no peace in the world without peace in the womb!

Sheila, I know you feel very passionately about this topic, but either you are allowing someone to fill your head with a bunch of hooey, or you are deliberately making up things you know are untrue.
Senator Obama did not say the things that you attribute to him, nor is it consistent with any of the policies of his campaign.
Furthermore, the African American population is not declining. On the contrary, the black population in American continues to grow at twice the rate of the Caucasian population.
Please don't misrepresent facts to fit your argument.

While I am not thrilled with this add, why is there nothing that has John McCain saying that he approved this ad? Is this REALLY a McCain campaign add, or just an ad produced by people who want McCain elected. We all need to be very careful this year, on all sides, to be honest with each other.

We lost, a simple truth. Now i prepeare to batten the hatches. I will start by hidding my guns, as Obama removes the right to bear arms. I will network with my friends of like mind. We will prepare for this as people did in the 60s, awaiting the nuclear winter. I expect un-precedented support of abortion. Socialism will be the theme. The hard worker must pay to support the lower income strata of our nation.
What outcome will occur? Perhaps this begins the end times as written in Revelations. I believe America as we now know her will be gone forever. Civil war is something i now see as a possibility once again.
It will not be about race, but ideals. a choice between good and evil.
I am proud to have been a Marine, and fought for the America my forefathers created. But even the Roman empire collapsed. It is foolish to beleive this cannot happen to the USA. I pray that this will not happen in my lifetime. But i am prepared to accept it if it happens.

I thought it was quite funny.
The Rove minions have shown that they now own the Republican party. What happened to civility and restraint? Will the left have to change our tactics to meet these new attacks?
The apocalyptic imagery is unmistakable. I can't believe they went this low.
People, we must unite and save our country against the lies from McCain that will enslave us all.
I just happened to hit this site from Google.
I read the above posts and with what most were saying, I knew I had just fell into the universe of moon howling lefties (UMHL), LOL.
There is nothing funnier than moon howlers trying to act all "righteous".
NOTHING! LOL
"Will the left have to change our tactics to meet these new attacks?"
HAAAAHAAAAAA, stop it, my sides hurt.
What hypocrites. Far lefties are the most hateful people on the planet. Go to the Daily Kuss and the Hutch and see if you can get ANY worse than that.
Ehh, you'll probably surprise me.
I agree with Rod Dreher of CrunchyCon, this ad is funny. Perhaps some thicker skin is called for.
Reading blogs just makes me hate people. Not the bloggers, but the plebians who comment on them. To me, this ad is not offensive, it's just plain stupid. The ignorant masses are going to think it's an Obama ad because they aren't going to wait until the end for the "punch line." Is this the best they can come up with? If so, McCain has already lost.
Racism is alive and well in the USA.
"What kills me is he went to the Middle East , was blown off by the troops and skipped visiting the injured because he needed to get his workout in. Nice Priorities for a man that then went to a pep rally for himself in Germany/Europe. What a jerk. God please help us all wake up and really listen to what he stands for."
And this is what the brain dead, empty head, inbred conservative voters buy as "the truth" these days! These folks are actually going to vote on who takes over and tries to drive our nation out of this hell-hole the GOP has put us in.
FSM...save us from ourselves!
"How do you know he is not the Anti-Christ."
The level of discourse and critical thinking here is sky high, folks.
I just wasted a few minutes watching a stupid ad, reading a stupid blog, and I am sure, my responses is equally stupid by providing any legitimacy to the topic.
Uh, Ken.... my comment about racism was not directed towards the ad, but towards the comment posted just prior to mine - where the poster suggested that maybe Obama IS the anti-Christ. Sometimes it's hard to tell whether people don't like Obama because he's (1) a Democrat, or because (2) he's black. I suspect a lot of the antipathy towards him comes from (2).
I got the "Anti-Christ" email from my FiL the other week and found it the most retarded thing ever...then this came out and I wondered about the timing.
I would not put it past the McCain camp for trying to rally the evangelicals he has trouble with by suggesting that "the One" is here and must be stopped.
It is a sickening new low in politics
Growing up in an Evangelical home... I am extremely familiar with the belief system.
McCain's camp is not trying to be cute or funny as they claim. They are playing directly on people's religious beliefs, and yes fears.
At best they are simply being blasphemous, and character assassination ... But frankly I strongly see this as something more sinister.
You nailed them on this Mara... Thanks for calling them out for what it is. Don't let McCain get away this.
Truly disgusting... More of McCain's cruel sense of humor and lack of character himself.
MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON JOHN McCAIN.

Apparently you didn't see it the same way I did. I give you ... Barack Obama as Neo.

Both candidates leave much to be desired. Trouble is, we look for someone who supports our positions and beliefs to a "T". But when it comes down to making a choice in the election booth, I choose a pro-life person. The rest of the issues fall in line after that.
I agree with Cole. It is never to be accepted as a joke when a presidential candidate, or anyone else for that matter, treats basic Christian principles with contempt and derision in order to score political points. We should all be outraged, Jews and Christians alike.
Hopeless, low class ads.using religions and mocking the people's
faith is completely a sign of false propaganda and injecting the
poison in the brain of every american taxpayers, who will decide on
November,the next US President.
John McCain is a total "IDIOT"!
I will never get surprise that in a few weeks, his Poll will pull him
down again, because the americans were already carrying so much of
their baggage, from Housing foreclosures that ends to homelessness,
couples headed to a divorce, because of financial problems, losses of
jobs in america, and the crooks promoting more of low wage laborers
from China, while the american people were buying so much garbage
made from a communist country.
Don't let this Crooks and bunch of Lobbyist bully all of us,
because this bastards are the only ones sucking our lives and the
future of the next generation,"VOTE WISELY".
And one more thing, most GOP'S are a product of adulters,Like McCain, perhaps,if he just look back on his past, the
worst crime, that he ever committed in his lifetime was, when he had
an affair with his second wife Cindy,he abandoned his first wife
after she suffered from the fatal car crashed and started running
around with different women, after he decided to divorced the first
wife in exchange for his personal ambition,This is why most of the
conservative repubs,snubbed his a-s!
Values, think about it,if this liars claimed, that Obama was the
Anti-Christ,What about the 10 commandments?
Thou Shall not covet thy neighbor's wife.
This ad is horrific, divisive and down right offensive to anyone of faith! To mock a presidential candidate no matter democrat or republican is just mockery and blasphemy!!! Where is the outrage on the faith based side of this? Where are the evangelical leaders. I believe this ad has been running for over 48 hours without a forceful response. Do something now! Please.
Cynthia, TX:
You're confused about blasphemy. To pretend to be the Messiah is blasphemy and a violation of the First Commandment. To uncover and reveal this unholy arrogance and pretense (as this ad does) is truly prophetic. Obama is the pretender; the McCain campaign is the prophetic voice, a voice that is also deliciously jocular :)
If there is anything embarrassing here, it is the way so many Democratic primary and caucus voters allowed themselves to be seduced by this Pied Piper.
This McCain is proving to be of the basest sort. Straight forward it is wrong to use the image of Moses in such a way. Compounding his errors Mr. McCain then explains how he is using humor to make his point. What does he find so funny about the Bible? We know he makes crude jokes about women and children, what type of Christian jokes does he make when he feels he can tell them safely?
(2) Mother Jones magazine did its own story in February 2008, "Barack Obama's Messiah Complex." Look for it here: http://www.motherjones.com/mojoblog/archives/2008/02/7209_barack_obamas_m.html
(3) Let's not forget that Senator Hillary Clinton mocked Obama's "messianic complex" in Rhode Island on February 25, 2008: "The skies will open, the light will come down, celestial choirs will be singing and everyone will know we should do the right thing and the world will be perfect,”
(4) A comprehensive roundup of MSM treatment of Barack-as-Messiah is documented at: http://obamamessiah.blogspot.com/
The delicous irony about this McCain ad is that it was "progressives" and the Obama campaign who BEGAN this "Messiah" theme a long time ago. Be careful of what you wish for :-)
JOHN MCCAIN has crossed a line. It is obvious he's not a man of faith.
I'm personally appalled.
Last week Andrea Mitchell (ABC reporter) was there with Obama and flat out said it was a lie,by several papers too that,he skipped the troops in germany to workout. That has been proven and dispelled as false.
HE DIDN'T WANT TO MAKE IT A POLITICAL VISIT,or even to look that way.Low information voters (ignorant to the facts) is what Republicans love, they think for you and you just do as your told.
Go to www.factcheck.com You will find the truth to all these false rumors.
THE SAME PEOPLE THAT BROUGHT YOU BUSH are NOW around Mccain, hence all the gutter tactics.
He should never use christianity in ADS that are negative ,God is love.
Good article on the subject:
http://www.joebageant.com/joe/2005/12/what_the_left_b.html
"Racism is alive and well in the USA."
Yes it is. Obama proved that with his race baiting last week.
Man, 98 % of the above comments are so left winged they are flying. Well, I stumbled into the hornets nest when I cam across this site too, I love the guy who is laughing at all of the left wingers "his sides hurt" Hysterical. Way to go!
This is so not a "christian website" Do you all watch Oprah or what?
Hasta, I am going to go find "substance" and Whatever Conversations with God, talk about blasphemy> Have fun lefties.
Yet.
I totally agree with you. i'm sickened by this ad. To create an ad that implies Obama might be the anti-christ? Slimy. Wrong. Immoral. If this is the fruit of that the McCain tree is producing.....it is ROTTEN! This ad shows more about McCain's character than it does about Obama's.
I'm so sick of lies and craziness. Where's Thomas Paine and some common sense?
"Racism is alive and well in the USA."
Yes it is. Obama proved that with his race baiting last week.

-----------------
I believe you are confusing Obama with John mCcAIN AND THE rnc,
I suppose the good gnus is they are already scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Lots of fuss over what? How many months until we get to actually vote? For all intents and purposes I have made up my mind and I won't be voting for Mac. Both sides will be trying to convince folks to vote for their candidate...but it sounds like Mac might be getting desperate already.
This is one of many....will be interesting to see and hear what the folks come up with next.
Does this mean that the fervor of xtian proselytizing is going to accelerate? Oh boy. They've accused about 100 people of being the anti-christ over the years. Let's put a fence up around Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and all those other heartland states and let them have their own church-country. I am tired tired tired of their drivel with all the guns, gays and god nonsense.
Who said anything about the AntiChrist? The point of the ad is that Obama thinks he's mankind's saviour. A thought that should make anyone with a minimum of intelligence wince.
Mccain's ads have taken a pattern that confirms his desperate behaviors and lack of class. They continue to be stupid and offensive.
It frightens me to think what our country would be like if he is elected president. Please listen to Obama, people. He's on the right track.
hey people, if you are reading this posted, i found something interesting about the apocalipse and today's world. the apocalipse said " one third of the world population will lose their lifes in half of a secound by a big explossion"" and also said " and the moon and the star will fall down from the sky". if the comet that is about to impact the earth in 2012 is true, then that must be the statement that said "one third of the world population will lose their lifes in half of a secound by a big explossion" because only such a thing can kill so many people so fast like that. and also if the comet impact the earth, based on nasa, a lot of dust will cover the entire earth and then everything will go dark for years. that also state the statement that said "and the moon and the star will fall down from the sky" meaning that it would be so dark after the comet that it would be impossible to see the start from earth ( the star will fall down from the sky"
well that is my believe. also if the anticrist is real, then he must show up now that we are in 2008 and be as good as possible and hero to the people as he can so when the comet hit the earth in 2012, he would take over the world because that would be the moment where people need more help so that is the perfect time for him to shows up. so think for a secound, obama, nice guy, appear in 2012, nice speech and very intelligent, promise peace and a new begining..hhhmmmmm, i think that we should be prepared for the worst because it is meant to be happen and there is nothing we can do to stop it exept getting toguether with god (jesus and his father) to save our lifes. but remember " whoever try to save his life by joining the anticrist will lose his life, and whoever loses his life because of jesus will save his life" .. people please remember that the human boddy is a temporary carrier that hold our soul so we can follow god in this life experience, but the thing is that the body is not more important than your soul. and so lets prefer to lose our body instead and save our soul.
How can you blame anyone but Obama.. He is the one who has passed himself off as the messiah.. For instance his his current poster showing the tree of life and those who pass by it become enlightened by the light being emitted from the Obama logo...... He is the antichrist.. Soon even the slow learner of the world will know it too..
The truth be known his poster really reveals the tree of knowldge of good and evil..not the tree of life..
Astrology is original sin doctrine..
Bobby Smith said:
"Who said anything about the AntiChrist? The point of the ad is that Obama thinks he's mankind's saviour. A thought that should make anyone with a minimum of intelligence wince."
Believe me - you'll get more out of it seeing it that way.
hesiod, is that you? Where you been man. Your blog was the first I ever read regularly.
Hey Ruth, what do you think of McCain volunteering his wife in the Sturgis beauty pageant? This site won't let me link. Try typing "John McCain: Take My Wife Please!" on YouTube.
Jim writes:
>Any thinking person knows he will do NO good FOR America.
>Unless,,,,
>1. You don't like your BIBLE.
Where is the Bible does it say that war is good but free will is bad? McCain stands for authoritarianism.
>2. You don't like your right to bear arms.
Guns are made for killing. Thou Shalt Not kill. Who doesn't know his Bible?
>3. You don't mind higher taxes, you know, to give all those damn illegals free EVERYTHING, but,,, wait, >that's right,,, his "divinefulofsh*tness" will free them with amnesty. But, no guns. Don't worry though, he >will still find lots of things to waste your tax dollars on.
Thank you, Alex. I am so tired of this kind of ignorant ranting. I appreciate your taking the time to respond with sensible comments.
McCain is a lose cannon and needs a safe hooby not a political career. He is so far off track about the Anti-Christ it is unbearable. Obamma is a good man and I am a republican. lol... Any ways, those that know me and what I stand for and what I have been preparing for for years, know the real Anti-Christ. It is a shame the world is about to find out the hard way, who I am.www.4-oneworld.com
If you truly cast your vote according to Our Lord's Word, the Bible, then you will NOT vote for any candidate(s) who believe in abortions or the politician who votes for the law that allows babies to die from botched abortions.
Conception is when TRUE LIFE BEGINS!
